you can pay for insurence like 50 simulans a week for every room you have (or something like that)
so if the house is burned down the insurence pays for everything

that would be kinda of cool and sad especally if someone worked real hard on their house, i also think that sims should be able to climb out the windows instead of just doing that dance in the fire {yes}
