Well done, Minty, looks like it worked. Boolprop was starting to look like the place to go for a discount kitchen.

I joined there a long time ago, largely to show support for another forum (and to reserve my username!) but haven't really been back very often. I wouldn't want to spread myself too thin. Consolidation of effort etc. But I agree, they do seem to have some nice people there and it would be a shame to let it be overrun with spambots and their cut-price cabinets.

I feel so sorry for all the kids doing exams. I can remember that summer of A-levels all too well! Good luck to them all.

Wowsers, didn't expect matters to move so fast! But very pleasing, looks like the whole gang's back there. I was worried at first when I saw the first thread I made was locked, & fully expected to find I had been expelled by Rhea for threatening Palmer with Paxo & orange sauce.

She was locked out of her own forum???

Next door have made themselves unpopular as they were doing renovations & the builders, redecorators & what have you shook out their dustsheets in the middle of the road afterwards. Perfectly timed to go with a strong wind, a lovely white & grey cloud of paint particles have made a real mess of a number of lawns, window glass, parked cars. There's already been one "good neighbour" down demanding they pay for them to clean up the mess - you can guess the response. I've a feeling this won't be the last of it.

Urgh, that sounds very messy indeed! Hope your windows were shut at least and that you had not put out "a" washing.

I made a few posts at Boolprop, to try to help your endeavour. I hope it isn't just some initial enthusiasm, but time will tell. Great effort on your part. Hugs for Minty!

Something in the garden has gone totally nuts throwing out a craptonne, if I may borrow LGR's excellent term, of pollen. I have been sneezing my head off for the last 30 minutes, to the point of developing a headache and losing my sense of smell so that I can't taste anything. This is nothing short of a DISASTER because it is lamb chops and polenta for dinner.

In other news, after Minty made me create the Eye of Sauron using fruit and vegetables, a slightly better version has been found in space:



I still think my version with peppers was all right, but I'll grant them first prize on this one.

That picture looks like one of those awful album covers bands used to get in the 80s which looked like they'd been made with duct tape.

It's too hot. Shut up Ollie before you say anything! Two mad monsoons this afternoon, & now there's steam coming up from the garden. Oh & our neighbours must have bought some dodgy compost as their flowerbeds are ALL covered in mushrooms! Serves them right for being Rangers supporters.

Do you all remember the story I told you last year about helping that friend of the neighbour which led to me conning some obnoxious little toad out in the sticks into thinking his neighbours' property was being used to shoot a porno? Talking to the neighbour today, he told me the housekeeper or whatever got fired months back after one party at the bosses house too many.

To cut a long story short, he was up on business, meeting got cancelled, decided not to fly back but go crash at his other home & tell the office he was working at home - which as it turned out he ended up doing in truth having to clear up the mess after throwing out the housekeeper, her family & friends mid soirée (the police almost ended up involved!).

Remind me when I become a propertied millionaire never to have a housekeeper, or if so, only employ hermits!

Wowsers, I'll apply for the job as housekeeper. I can't think of many people more hermit-like than me! You can pay me in polenta and whisky and I will keep everything shipshape.

How amusing about the mushrooms. I've had annoying little weeds come up after dumping compost on the garden but not mushrooms. How amusing! Hope they don't get any bright ideas about getting rid of them into an omelette.

It would seem that Hearts have managed to exit administration already, which is great news!

World Cup about to start and I don't feel even slightly excited. Normally I love the World Cup. Oh well.

And in other news it would appear that The Sun newspaper is going to be delivered to all households for free tomorrow. Not very happy about that.

Some reports this morning of hackers targeting Origin and EA claiming otherwise. Possibly something to watch out for if you have an Origin account.

Edit: apparently the hack may have been a hoax. Never hurts to change a password from time-to-time though.
