Installation Error!

Hello All ;]

I've recently come back from America, And bought an American Laptop over there,
I'm now living in the UK, And am trying to install my UK PC version of Sims2,

Everytime i install i get to the first part of the installation, It gets to 1%
Then an error about 'European transfer File' comes up??
I've cleaned the disc several times,
Searched everywhere for help, But nothing!
Does anybody have any advice for me?
