35 years ago today, this song was No.2 in the UK Singles chart.





Sad & pathetic to think how a song snapshotting the state of the world in 1979 about kids joining armies (regular, mercenary or "freedom fighters") because it's the only job they can get still hopes true today.

Errrmahgawd! Round the twist! When I was young and watched that it used to scare me, then again, when I was younger all TV shows used to scare me.

Well it was a very weird show with some relatively freakish things in it. I absolutely loved it!

Recently I've been listening to Puttin on the ritz by Taco. The song is so strange and weird, yet addictive.




I've also been listening to They were wrong by Edward Sharpe and the magnetic zeros. The video and song reminds me of a Quentin Tarantino film, but I'm not too sure why.




And lastly I've been listening to Riptide by Vance Joy. It's just a great all-around song in my opinion.

Some toe-tapping experiences there, Ollie. I like Puttin' On The Ritz, although it makes me realise that I have forgotten 100% of the tap-dancing I learned as a kid (I only signed up for that because I really wanted the shiny red shoes).
