RE: Sims 2 flickering issue, please HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I ought to boot you for this as per the rules (posted in wrong place & tech help is for regulars only), but since this was a question answered only days earlier I'll be lenient this once (grrrrrrrrrr!) .

I will stake my polenta on you having Windows 8 on the computer you are trying to run this on, right?

In which case, try running it in Windows XP compatibility mode. This is something to bear in mind with EVERY game you buy - double check when it was made & if it doesn't work properly you need to try running it in Compatibility mode.

Before you ask how to do the latter:-

1) right click on the game's shortcut on your menu screen.
2) choose "Properties"
3) pick the compatibility folder
4) click on the box for "Run this program in compatibility mode for", chose Windows XP
5) Click APPLY & next OK
6) try your game.

If this works, go back & try with different compatibility modes until you find one that works best.

Now for tea.

RE: Sims 2 flickering issue, please HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Minty

I finally solve the problem. I have already been running it with window xp service pack 2. What I did was installed RadeonPro, enable OPENGL, change my refresh rate to 30 hertz, and then change resolution in game, and it finally fix!

RE: Sims 2 flickering issue, please HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually it not fix.

Hi guys, I bought the Sims 2 double deluxe edition and there
are flickering issues everywhere (photos attach below) to the point that it is
unplayable. However it works fine on my
laptop with Nvidia graphic card. I have an Ati graphic card Radeon HD 5850 on
my pc which is my main gaming platform.
So I know there is nothing wrong with the discI have tried all sort of solution from installing Ati tool,
Ati Radeonpro, and tweaking options here and there but nothing is working. I had it working 2 times before on different
occasion and I thought I finally solve the problem but it happened again.

I can run Sims 3, Company of Heroes, etc… without any
problem.

Here are my computer specs:

Intel Core i5-750 quad core processor

ASUS 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

G Skill Ripskills Series 4GB memory card

Sapphire Radeon HD 5850 1GB 256-bit GDDR5

it look something like this

Sorry, I have absolutely no clue. If it works on your laptop can you not just use that laptop to play TS2?

You could try posting at the EA's Answer HQ in the TS2 area, but I don't know how often posts there get answered. You could give it a try. Here's the link to the relevant section: Sims 2 Answer HQ.
