RE: The Official Nonsense Thread
Oh dear. This depends on the level of damage. I envisage the following possible scenarios.
1. Jacket has small mark on it from ironing - if so, can the mark be hidden, if mark located on inconspicuous area? 2. Jacket has huge iron-shaped triangular pattern on it - if so, is it an expensive rain jacket? Could the person not just say 'I'm very sorry, I made a terrible mistake, I will contribute some money towards a new one' or alternatively accept that they will now be wearing jacket featuring an unfortunate iron design? 3. Waterproofing on jacket has melted, causing jacket to meld to iron. If so, big trouble because now iron is destroyed as well as jacket. In this worst case scenario, I'd say it's best to come clean as quickly as possible and get it over with. Chances of being allowed to go around with iron stuck to jacket are minimal, so new jacket and new iron will need to be sourced. Could offer cash to assist with replacements, or chores if cash is short. 4. Blame sister as retribution for long-term hijacking of Late Night CD. |
