They'd most likely have to pay to use the name.

But, they could always change it to something like, iSim or simPod, something along those lines. (Like how they change cereal brand names for movies and tv shows)

You can purchase MP3 Players in the Sims 2. The only bad thing is that you can't run with it, you have to stand in one spot.

Not for the sims. Only low budget movies have to change the names. If it's a big enough movie, all the brands you see in the movie are paying to be there. Its called "product placement."

For the sims, companies would pay A LOT of money. For example Ford definitely paid EA to put up their car for download.
