Logging On and Passwords

Logging On and Passwords
I always thought it was just my laptop, but I'm on my upstairs computer now and it's still happening.

You know at the top where you can log in if you don't automatically do so when you come here? And computers remember user's passwords if you want them to. I typed my username and password into this computer, chose 'yes' when it asked if I wanted it to remember my password, and then I logged out. So then I tried to log in again, and I typed my username in and it automatically knew my password, so I click to log in, and it always says that my password is incorrect, when it's clearly not as I logged in with it the first time. And it happeneds on my downstairs laptop too. I have to physically type my password in each time.

I just wondered if anyone has the same problem?

Re: Logging On and Passwords
That's really weird. I don't personally know what you're talking about as I just let my computer remember any of my passwords, but perhaps somebody else knows.

Re: Logging On and Passwords
It sounds like your password is being stored in your web browser, and it's has been stored wrong. What web browser are you using?

Re: Logging On and Passwords
Then why have I had this problem on both computers? Sad Not that I care, it's just odd.

Re: Logging On and Passwords
Well, not me. But like I said, I don't use the "remember my password" thing. Sad

Re: Logging On and Passwords
If your password is already filled in the 'password' field, then it'll be IE that is filling it.

To check, in IE go to 'Tools > Internet Options' then click the 'Content' tab, then the 'Settings' button under 'AutoComplete' and see if the 'Prompt me to save passwords' field is checked.

You may want to clear out these saved fields, to do this follow the instruction on the same window as above under 'Delete AutoComplete history'. That should delete them and next time you type it, it should remember the right one!

Hope that helps!
