Re: Every time I think of...........
I talk like her, just a bit less Yorkshire-like, haha.
There are too many English accents in th world but I can tell you most of them are not what you would imagine. Though Jen is right, there definitely are posh, snobby British accents lying about, mostly in London, which is probably where the stereotypical accent comes from, as it's our capital and most Americans would probably visit there if anywhere in England. I'm getting a webcam next week so you may see what I sound like. XD Wait, that makes no sense... HEAR what I sound like. I'm rubbish with American accent. I can do the typical American accent, whatever that may be, and a Texas one. I have no idea how many varying American accents there are... I wish I had an Australian accent. Random. ETA; OMG Serp, great minds think alike. (13-04-2009 01:07 AM)*miss [removed] link Wrote:I think england has some really good accents. Idk why I love it so much maybe because I wish I had the accent. Re: Every time I think of...........
There are a lot of American Accents
Like the south, and east coast. In the west coast, especially southern Cali where I am from There is no accent, just American English Ours is not like, "howdy patnar" or "yee! hawww!!", and "You`ll", thats in Texas, though not all Texans speak like that. in New York, they speak differently Thats all I know But American English is very boring and plain! Its not interesting much but I can live with Australian is nice in my opinion If a girl speaks to me in Australian, its a turn on! lol The only thing I can say would be "G-day Mite!" and "Welcome to Australia" |

Re: Every time I think of...........
I'm from the East Coast of America (Delaware) and I haven't noticed too much of a Texas drawl here. Although, I've heard the further south you go in Texas the worse it gets. And I have heard a couple people who I could not for the life of me understand, they had a HEAVY Texas drawl.
New Yorkers do have a different accent, also depending on where in New York they're from. I love accents, because as serp pointed out, we really don't have much of a standard accent here in the USA. Member since March 17th, 2008

Re: Every time I think of...........
If anyone is bored enough, this is a man doing a collection fo British accents. He says Yorkshire accent is depressing and grim and annoying! OMG! Nub. {glare}
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KH_kOjsXakM Not all of them but a fair few. I am practicing my Australian. I shall show you all my attempts eventually. I adore their accent, it's like, so sunny. My Aunt hates it. I always bug her by talking to her in an Australian accent. XD |
