There's a thunder storm outside and I'm scared of sudden noises. Anyone got any tips to calm me down?

I hate thunder storms >_<  They scare me a lot.  I tend to hide under the blankets whenever we get them here >_>

I did that on holiday once, but I love them now XD

Not me.  I once spun a vehicle because I got freaked out by a storm >_>;  Saw the lightning and the Thunder was LOUD, and I instinctively closed my eyes - WHILE DRIVING - and when I opened them I was very close to hitting another car.  I slammed the breaks, and because the road was wet, the vehicle spun in a complete circle before stopping o__o;  And this was last summer, ROFLMAO.
