My sim stuck with carrying a plate

Have a slight problem with sims 3. I was remodelling my house (well basically rebuilding it and getting new furniture and everything). After the house was rebuilt and new furniture in place I noticed that one of my sims was carrying a plate with glasses on, probably was cleaning up the old bar or something when i started rebuilding. Now I can't find any way to get rid of that plate, he keeps carrying it 24/7 and at least seems like he can't go swimming in the pool sine he is stuck with carrying it. Is there any way to fix this?

open the cheat bar (Shift+CTRL+C) then type in
"Resetsim FIRSTNAME LASTNAME" without quotation marks of course and replace the first and last name with your sims name.Your sim should reset into his house fully reseted (this wont reset his skills,relationships etc
