Sims 3 is Poorly coded
I am running top of the line equipment here
Q9550 Overclocked at 3.6 4 gigs DDR2 RAM GTX 280 overclocked Vista 64 I am running it at 1920x1200, high details... And the game can barely maintain 30 FPS when im scrolling through the whole town, or the game will stutter somewhat frequently when moving from one side of the village to the other. This must be the most poorly coded game Ive ever played from a technical stand point, not to mention they failed to implement an option to enable vsync. |

Re: Poorly coded software
Are you using the stock fan+heatsink for your processor? What are the temps of your processors/gfx card under load? Because overclocking with bad cooling isn't wise. Also are your overclocks stable?

Re: Poorly coded software
Yes my overclocks are stable, and no im not using a stock HSF. I can run prime95 for 24 hours without breaking 50 on the CPU and I keep my GPU fan at 100% while I game, plus I can run crysis at 1920x1200 max detail at 60 FPS...
Others are having the same problem http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/thes...pid=936498 http://www.gamespot.com/pc/strategy/thesims3/show_msgs.php?topic_id=m-1-49809749&pid=936498 [url=http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/genmessage.php?board=936498&topic=49845959 [/url] and numerous others... |

Re: Sims 3 is Poorly coded
I'm curious, have you tried running the game at lower graphic settings?

Re: Sims 3 is Poorly coded
Hmm, MIGHT be a driver issue. Try using different driver versions, although that's probably not it. I'll give it a shot and maybe say Vista 64 is the problem. Are the other people having problems using Vista 64 as well?

Are the other people having problems using Vista 64 as well? Not driver related, same problem reported on ATI's catalyst drivers. Vista 64 is not the culprit as well since Ive heard the problem reported from XP to Mac OS. |
