Help with Life Continuing

Hi

I know that one of the big features of Sims 3 was that their was an ongoing life that continued when you went onto another family but is there anyway to turn that off? I'm sick of going back to a family and finding that they've had more kids - and always named them really stupid names.

1.Click on the Button with the (...)
2.Click on options
3.Go to the third tab i believe (or just look for the game play tab)
4.uncheck the aging box
