learning to walk glitch

ever since the new update when my sims teach their toddlers to update the kid is like a foot (of sim space) away from the parent but the actions go along - their just seperate. she'll have the babe in her arms then when she puts him down he'll be a foot away from her, and when he walks to her her arms and hands make the motion of picking him up but he's away from her - and he does go up in the air seperated from her.

any idea what happened?

I have no idea, but I think its quite hilarious. If you hate how it happens, just cancel the action and try again until they are no longer trying to hold onto midair.
