What's boxing day?

I'm having a lazy Boxing Day.

Ahmed, I don't know the history of Boxing Day. All I know is, it's the day after Christmas and has nothing to do with boxing [as in, where you punch people]! ;D

When I was younger, my parents told me that it was called 'Boxing Day' because it's the day when people used to throw all the boxes/packaging out from their presents that they got on Christmas. Whether it's true or not [{rolleyes}] I don't have a clue.

I don't think it's throwing them away specifically, I believe it has something to do with like, boxes that your presents are in or something. WHO KNOWS.

I hated Boxing Day when I was little. It was like the punishment day for Christmas day. It just wasn't the same.

I read about it and apparently it has something to do with giving poor people presents
