Which Sims version do you recommend?
Hi. I've never played Sims before, but I want to. Some of the things I've read about Sims 3, made me think maybe I should go with Sims 2. I'm wondering what are the big differences between them? I think I would really enjoy the house building part which it sounds to me like Sims 2 lets you build houses and neighborhoods. At the same time, I don't see myself be a hardcore gamer, so the auto play thing seems like it might be good. Is that just in Sims 3? I'm so confused! I'd welcome any thoughts or advice. P.S. I'm sorry if I posted this in the wrong place.

RE: Which Sims version do you recommend?
Heres a good way to narrow down your options.

If you...
like realistic games
want customizability
need alot of features
can't stand low quality graphics

DO NOT play The Sims 1

If you...
don't need variety
get frustrated easily
get intimidated by not succeeding

DO NOT play The Sims 2

If you...
don't give a crap about nice graphics
want a custom neighborhood fast and easy
are a fan of cutesy, comical, quirky humor
like aspiration/career rewards
dislike goals

DO NOT play The Sims 3

If you...
get inspired easily
prefer your own characters to pre-made sims
dislike games with a set story
love making characters with big families
adore cheat codes

DO NOT play The Sims Life Stories

If you...
love building houses
don't like the medieval times
get intimidated by doing badly
don't like magical/fantasy games

DO NOT play The Sims Medieval

If you...
don't have a wii
have a family that watches tv all the time

DO NOT play The Sims 3 (Wii)

If you...
want alot of things to do all the time
don't spend much time out of the house
often lose things with a cord and a plug

DO NOT play The Sims 3 (DS)
