Anyone Else Beginning To Feel 'Why Bother?' Anymore?

Suppose I've a cheek to talk considering my time here is infrequent due to work and stuff, but I'm shocked to come here and find that not only is the place overrun with spambots, but the one new person we've had recently that's appeared keen enough to sort of stick around, Dreameroflight55, has been permabanned without explanation.

Who was responsible for this? Why did they do it? What had she done? Nothing by the look of it.

Whatever the reason, she's joined other forums now so there's no hope of her bothering to sign up under a new name anyway. Great.

No one seems interested in the place anymore, there hasn't even been a thread raised about the new Harry Potter movie. New people join and no one even bothers saying hello to them anymore or indicates to them to come over to Off Topic.

I have lifted the ban. The Spam Protection Software we have in place issued the ban (not entirely sure why).

Thanks. I will send her a message to see if we can get her back. I noticed she's gone over to the horrible Sims Resource, so may be too late.

Keep your fingers crossed for me, or better still EVERYONE send Dreameroflight55 a private PM and see if we can get her back.

They're only bothering to deal with it when they feel like it.

Why is it so difficult to put up a barrier to spammers? Such as first five posts moderated before posting?

I'm on here every single day deleting the spam. It's not fun...at all. I have made a post for Matt to look at and see what else can be done, but it's irritating, I totally understand. Sorry guys!
