Actually, from a financial stand point, having Pets in the base game makes more sense. Think about it. Using pets isn't necessary. It shouldn't be either. If they put pets in the base game, people can get the game for simming. If they make an EP for pets, then EA loses money from the customers not purchasing pets. EA can then put their ideas into another EP that will be bought by more simmers.
Does that make sense?

not that much
pet's is not something you can avoid
it's not like with OFB where if you don't want your sim to have a business it don't have to have a business
pets will be arround the town
what i always hated about pets was the strays that kept destroying my lot
i think that alot of people that don't want pets just won;t buy TS3 if it has pets in it
when it come to pets there are pretty much two sides one that really want pets in the game and one that really don't
if it would be in the base game alot of people that don't want pets just won;t get the game
if it would be an ep all the people who want pets will probebly get it

ya, it makes sense that pets would be in an EP rather than in the basegame. I just hope the EP for it comes out soon (maybe the second or third EP) after TS3 does so I can give my sims pets!

What I meant about the not being in the game, was you don't need to purchase pets. Perhaps EA can create a setting disabling strays and what not? It makes more sense financially to put pets in the base game.

We get the best of both worlds at this point in the world; the wonders of life (TS3, Harry Potter, etc etc) and amazing technology but still we have old school (I mean, it's 2008 and people still drive or catch buses to work... hello? Should we not be flying or teleporting by now?!) and the world hasn't cracked yet (by that I mean, the would is slowly dying because it's becoming more violent and global warming/no oil and so on...) so we're livin' young in the perfect time. 8)

OMG. This...is....amazing! I especially the more details that are editable in CAS. 4 different colours to change for the hair?! More realistic, I say!

I'm really looking forward to that, too, Rena! I remember making CC hair and having to do all the colouring myself...it was rather annoying. Now you just have to click a few buttons and you're done.
I am disappointed that we can't change the length of the hair, though. But I'll get over it.
