TS2 was pushed back by MONTHS. At least six months. I remember being so annoyed.
That's why I've been adamant about TS3 not coming out by the end of 2008, because of EA's history. They always delay games. Spore anyone?

Wow, I'm glad I wasn't old enough to actually care that it was psuhed back, then! That's is absolutely terrible! :o
I don't know anything about Spore, so I can't really judge on that, but something must have surely going really wrong with TS2 to get it pushed back so far? I really hope history does not repeat itself... I really do. :-\

I don't think anything went terribly wrong, they were just behind on production. It amazes me that a game couldn't be ready on time with tons of people working on it everyday. I'm not really invested in Spore, but it was supposed to come out in 2007, and now its coming out in 2009!
I think that there's a good chance that the game will not be delayed, hopefully when they aren't updating they're making sure that the game will be ready. Meh. Why can't they do both???

I'm glad I'm not a fan of this 'Spore', whatever it is. I read a little about it in another forum but I can't remember what it said. It's supposed to be a bit like Sims, though, right?Well, I don't mind if it's pushed back a month, I suppose. Maybe two. But not six! Well, it will never be like Spore - they have promised 2009. I suppose they are not giving us an esitmate month because it might be far from that in the future. But still, an esimate would not hurt, even if they couldn't stay true to it. :-\
And surely they'd have enough people to both work on the game AND update us? Updates aren't that hard to make, even if it was just a pile of new screenshots. Meh, lazy sods. Lol, just kidding, don't come after me, EAxis!

They promised release dates in TS2 as well, and with Spore. I think they actually had a day and everything that they were going to release it. At least that's what I read somewhere.
With TS3, they didn't really make any promises. Just 2009, that's easily changed. But I wouldn't worry about it. I think that Rod Humble is on the ball and he'll get a great game to us on time.

Yeah, it is not Will Wright over the game. That's why Spore is taking so long. It is Will's baby and his masterpiece. So they changed Spore from its official Sept. 2008 release date? That was announced last month. If it is pushed back to next year, I am going to remove my preorder.
Humble sounds like he is trying to get this game out on time, and March, they were 69% done. Now they may be at 73-74%, and they got a little less than a year.

Oh yea, my bad. I got the fiscal year and real year stuff mixed up. Its still coming out in Sept 2008.

I sure hope it comes out early 2009 though. Although, summer wouldn't be bad since I'm in school anyway at the beginning of the year.

They do be changing release dates like it isn't a big deal...
"Let's push back the date five months, Mark."
"Why, Steve?"
"There is something minor I want to add to the game and everyone likes it."
"What is it?"
"Another game console the sims can play. The fans won't care. They love having extra stuff in the game and will thank us for adding this SimS3."

Yeah, I want Feb-April next year, or if not then, I would like July as it's my Summer holidays then. But they'd rather sell it when the American Summer holidays begin, but I don't know what month that is. Isn't it May for some, but most schools it's June? 'Cause I know Americans have super long Summer hoildays.
EDIT: Haha, yummybunny (I think your name is Gerika but I can't be sure?). That's probably exactly how it goes down.
