I think EA wants our heads to spin. It gives their game hype, and it makes the forums boom, it gives them more traffic, people wondering about the game and stuff. I bet it probably will still be Feb.20, and they can say something now, they should know if it's delayed or not. It's not like they will first find out on February 3rd. But they can, like it may be delayed to increase the sales of those other games, like Sim Animals and Sim Racing, which no one cares about, and may sell the same anyways if TS3 is not released close to their time. But they DO need the money with all the problems they have been going through lately, and that's a big plus for us.

I can't believe EA is making us anticipate a date to find out when to anticipate Sims 3! That's pretty messed up. =\
So now we have to wait until Feb 3rd to find out how much dissapointment to expect?
On a lot of threads all over the Sims community, people are frequently repeating that they would rather wait for a bug-free game, no matter how long they have to wait, than get a bugged game on Feb 20th. And I know it's naughty of me but it's seriously getting irksome now.I mean, if you're patient enough to wait another how many months I don't know, and have lives to lead, that's AWESOME for you and I hope you have fun with that! But what about those who have no lives, have been twiddling their thumbs in anticipation for the last 11 months and don't mind a few bugs in the game (meh, I doubt it is even bugged up anyway as EA have already stated the game is looking great)? WE (aka me and other Sims fans I hope exist somewhere) dont want to wait until May/June/July/August or whenever! We'd like the game shipped up and ready to go when we were told it would be and not a day later. I could stand a couple of weeks delay but, that's about it. I guess I'm just greedy? =\

EA states the release as February 27th 2009, just a week later than originally intended, and it's on a Friday so we get all weekend to play too.

You're not greedy, you, like me just been waiting forever for this game, and now, this mess, weeks before the game comes out..you have every right.
Yeah, that would be messed up if they announce a delay now.
And every game, no matter what game, is gonna have a bug in it, no game is bug free, especially those huge content games.
And I am not a patient person either...I have a life, but it's close to no life, just going to school every morning, go home, do homework, go to bed, or probably do something on a weekend if there is anything. I need something to add to my almost no life routine.
I at least want it to come out before the summer, so I can have summer break to play it..I would be PO if it came out in September or Late August.

I just have so, so, SO many ideas for this game and so many people I want to make and I feel like if this game takes its time to get here, I'll lose my enthusiasm. During christmas and early January I admit it, I totally started disregarding Sims 3 and I stopped visiting the sites... not intentionally, but other hobbies and things got in the way. And it made life way easier when I wasn't constantly nursing thoughts about Sims 3. But since Kate let off the whole delay chaos I've been concerned and I realise now how much I want this game! I really, really, really want it in February, I don't think I can deal with it getting delayed, not after what happened with HBP aswell.
I do have a question though (sorry if it's a bit noobish). What's happening with Austrailia then, as they were supposed to be getting the game Feb 12th weren't they? Did this change? It's just, if Feb 20th looks unlikely then there's no chance of Feb 12th is there? =\

Hmm, the screenshot looks funny tbh...Why would EA delay it for a week? That sounds really...weird.
People can easily take the source of the page and just edit stuff in so you never know, that could have been done there.

(You'll have to scroll nearer to the bottom to the posts by SimOperations. He also released a bmp version of the pic in higher quality 'cause people were suspicious about the quality).
A week does sound pretty weird at first but it could've been the case that they just had a few extras to sort out and rather than rush through them to get it done for the 20th they just needed that little extra time. No one actually knows why it might be delayed.
