It's going on until Sept. 13th ... So, I have time x3 I might not like it, but I -will- go to McD's to get myself an extra Darkrai. I got one on my Pearl, back when Toys R Us was giving them out. I just need to get through Victory Road first, because you need the National Pokedex before you can get it.

There are Pokemon you can get from the Wild in Platinum that you couldn't get from the Wild in either Diamond or Pearl. Which is pretty cool!

Sean found a Gabite in Victory Road.
And I've caught: Ralts, Lickitongue, Eevee (you can get before you get the national dex), Swablu, Togapi (you get as an egg from a guy in one of the towns), Houndour which evolves into Houndoom (which you can also catch wild), Magneton, Duskull, Porygon, Scyther.
And of course there are many, many others. They're now common in the wild before you get the National Pokedex or with the PokeRadar. Before, in D&P, the only way you could catch most of those, if not all of them, were if you had a particular GBA Pokemon game in the GBA game slot and only after you had obtained the National Dex or the PokeRadar.

I caught my Gabite there haha. I have all these atm haha.
My Ralts is now a Gardevour (sp. {blush}) now haha.
