Re: harry potter? - Cassie - 03-04-2008 12:33 AM Totally. You're never going to be a true fan unless you've read the whole series at least once. I hate to break it to you, but you've got to actually read the books you claim to love! And I know what you mean, when I saw it in the cinema (7 times : ) lots of people we're shocked about Sirius dying, and I rolled my eyes. Kind of like this : . I just wish some people would give them a go. But, at the end of the day, you either want to read, or you don't. Just don't go calling yourself a true, number one fan until you've actually read them, not watched them. The movies are not the same. So, Harry Potter (again)! What next?! ??? Re: harry potter? - Paul - 03-04-2008 12:34 AM (To Bambi Seriously!? That's pathetic. I bet people who've only seen the movies would rather read the books because the books are more exciting. (Well, to me at least!)-Supergeek- Re: harry potter? - bambigoddess - 03-04-2008 12:38 AM (03-04-2008 12:34 AM)Supergeek to the rescue! link Wrote:(To Bambi You would think, but some people are just too lazy. And I agree with you, Cassie. 100%! Right - moving on to Harry Potter... Actually, this IS technically an HP conversation - about those annoying 'fans' that claim to be addicted. That's a widely discussed HP issue. But, anyhoo... How about... OH! How about we talk about what we think happened between the end of DH and the epilogue? I mean, I know it's kind of obvious, but I mean let's discuss the details.
Re: harry potter? - Cassie - 03-04-2008 12:39 AM Most of my friends disagree. They are determined to make me think "the movies are miles better than the books. And of course they fit everything in! We know everything you do too!* And yes, they have not read the books. :

Re: harry potter? - Cassie - 03-04-2008 12:42 AM Okay, about the Epilogue... I wanted them to talk to Draco so bad! I wanted to see if he was a changed man. Because I always thought, through it all, Draco is a nice guy underneath. And before Half-Blood Prince and the Dumbledore scene at the end, I always thought he was the hardman and very tough, but I saw him as a complete wuss (but a much nicer one) when he didn't do as he was asked to by Voldmort. I agree. The only truly evil characters were Voldemort and the Death Eaters. Underneath Draco's hard, cold shell, I always thought he was a nice guy, too. I would have loved for them to speak to eachother. But other than that, I would have liked to have seen what happened to Hogwarts between the end of the book and the epilogue. Plus, Jo didn't really explain where all the characters ended up. I know that would probably have been boring, but...I want to know!
Re: harry potter? - Cassie - 03-04-2008 12:59 AM Okay, I would have replied 5 minutes ago, however I was just watching a video on YouTube and now I'm crying with laughter. I won't link it as it's quite...no, very rude, and it's High School Musical too. Not for this thread. So anyways, I agree. Draco was kind of just a school bully that took it too far when he joined the dark side, then realised how stupid he'd been. He probably only joined the dark side because voldemort tempted him with a jar of homemade banana cookies. : ![]() And me too. She said what happened to a lot of them in an interview, I think, like Luna marrying some guy called Ralph Scamander and having two kids called Loran and Lysander Scamander. Sorry, but that name is nearly as funny as Albus Severus! But she also said she left a lot of questions on unanswered for a reason. Well, for whatever reason, I'm sorry Jo, but it wasn't good enough! More info really was needed.

More info really was needed. I agree about the names...quite a riot, aren't they? Jo could have touched them up a bit. And I definitely agree about the unanswered questions. She said she wanted to leave them open so you can fill in the blanks using your own imagination, but...I so don't want to do that I want to know what really happened.
Re: harry potter? - Cassie - 03-04-2008 01:29 AM Me too. Imgination is great and all, but we need facts for the ending, not imagination. But I guess it helps for tthe FanFic people who want to fill in the blanks with their own story. But once again, the Encyclopedia may fill us in. I've seen pictures of it somewhere, I'm almost certain... And about the HSM vid, well, it's very rude, but I sent it Paul too and he thought it was funny so maybe you will too. I have to PM though, it's way to rude to link on here. If anyone else is really curious and wants to see it, just PM me. |
