I love 'this is the part where your dad goes off on a cold Christmas Eve to get some more milk, but he never comes back and seventeen years later you find out he's had a whole f*cking family with some Spanish b!tch, and he doesn't even know you're f*cking name anymore!'

(09-01-2010 06:10 AM)@Steven! link Wrote:The Republic of South Africa is a constitutional democracy with a three-tier system of government and an independent judiciary,
'The Commonwealth is not a political union, but an intergovernmental organisation through which countries with diverse social, political and economic backgrounds are regarded as equal in status.' -Wikipedia
So in other words, The UK has no power over the members of the Commonwealth of Nations. They govern themselves.
South Africa was NOT a member of the Commonwealth during the Apartheid but was readmitted in 1994 after it had ended.
I just wanted to clear that up.
Re: The Official Nonsense Thread - serp3821 - 09-01-2010 06:34 AM
yeah I know. but what I didn't clarify is that they are with the UK. they are not governed but with the U.K. get it?
IDK how to explain it
Re: The Official Nonsense Thread - bobert26 - 09-01-2010 06:38 AM
Um ok. So therefore they are a member of the British Commonwealth.
Re: The Official Nonsense Thread - Cassie - 09-01-2010 06:39 AM
I didn't even know that South Africa had any links with us.
I really don't know anything in this area.
I feel unintelligent, not like I never wasn't. -_-
