Because I always thought, through it all, Draco is a nice guy underneath. And before Half-Blood Prince and the Dumbledore scene at the end, I always thought he was the hardman and very tough, but I saw him as a complete wuss (but a much nicer one) when he didn't do as he was asked to by Voldmort. I think that by not talking to him, and the fact he acknowledged Harry in the way he did was a wonderful touch. Much more dramatic that way. Re: harry potter? - bambigoddess - 03-04-2008 04:35 AM Eh, I suppose. Still, I guess I just mean I wish the epilogue was longer...or absent altogether, and in it's place would be... the eighth book! Much more dramatic that way. [/quote] I see what you're trying to say, however if I'm being honest, I'd still prefer a conversation between the trio and Draco. Just my opinion, though. And I have to agree Bambi! Scratch the Epilogue, we'll settle for an 8th book instead! And, to say she'd been planning that Epilogue, had it all them years, I was really excited to read it, she really built the tension for it very well. So I just thought I'd add that that made me yet more dissapointed by it. EDIT: You met the Queen, too? :o Can we just trade lives now please! : ![]() And thanks for aww-ing at my picture! I thought it was adorable too!
Re: harry potter? - bambigoddess - 03-04-2008 05:22 AM To each their own I would have liked a discussion, as well. But, oh well...there were a few things I would have liked - one of which I'll have to share with you...it's pretty exciting. I really wish she would have caught on to her own hints.Anyway, yes, an 8th book would have been far more thrilling than the epilogue. Maybe that's what she planned to do all along...maybe this epilogue is really just a joke... ...hmm...Research time! I need to see what Jo has said about the epilogue... Re: harry potter? - Cassie - 03-04-2008 05:58 AM Hehe, okay! Definitely so though. It seemed to me like that Epilogue was a joke. I don't think she would ever have wrote one like that if she didn't have a little something (a little something that rhymes with Faith Hook) up her sleeve for us in the future!
Re: harry potter? - bambigoddess - 03-04-2008 06:02 AM "Faith Hook"...I love it ![]() Besides...you can't just go from writing Harry Potter, the greatest series ever, to just sitting around at home all day. Even if she didn't plan on making a "Faith Hook," she'll eventually get bored and decide to write one anyway
Re: harry potter? - inimitable - 03-04-2008 11:17 AM yeah i love harry potter, i watched all films and i read all books, i know all of them like my name ;D Re: harry potter? - bambigoddess - 03-04-2008 01:18 PM So what is your take on...everything Cassie, Paul, and I have discussed on here so far? ![]() Edit: I'd just like to add this for Cassie - this is what Jo said during an interview with Melissa and Emerson: "But I am as sure as I can be currently that 7 will be the final novel, even though I get a lot of really big puppy dog eyes. "Just one more!" Yeah, I think it will be seven." She currently thinks...hmm...
Re: harry potter? - Cassie - 03-04-2008 05:38 PM See, it's just like reading between the lines in the books again, isn't it? I love reading between the lines.I notice how she always uses the word thinks, and currently, like you pointed out. She could easily have said: "But I am completely sure that 7 will always be the final novel, even though I get a lot of really pig puppy dog eyes. "Just one more! Yes, I'm positive there will be seven." But she doesn't. These are the kind of things that make me almost 110% sure that there will be a "Faith Hook," lol. : ![]() Why does she currently think there will be seven books? Is it because she knows that in the future she will be thinking there will be eight books, because she plans to write one for us? I think so. And also, is that interview from the 2005 interview with Emerson Spartz and Melissa Anelli (sp) after HBP was released? If so, I loved that interview! I remember being so happy when it came out. Jo made me laugh a lot in it. ![]() And hello, Inimitable, glad to hear you've seen the movies and read all the books! Feel free to intrude on our conersations any time you want to discuss anything HP! :

She could easily have said: Exactly And, as a writer, she wouldn't be one to make careless mistakes such as word choices when it came to an important question like that. If she meant that there wasn't going to be a "Faith Hook," she would have said so.dateline= Wrote:But she doesn't. Neither is 'currently.' They're both mean 'temporary', not 'set in stone'. dateline= Wrote:Why does she currently think there will be seven books? I think she's also pushing the whole "seven book" thing on us. It seems she uses 7 whenever she gets the chance - the 7th book was to be released on the 7th day of the 7th month of the 7th year; there are 7 horcruxes; 7 HP books; 7 'Tales' books, etc. etc. etc. It seems she's trying a bit hard to make us believe there are only going to be seven. She thought that eventually we'll just accept it. Well, she thought wrong. ![]() dateline= Wrote:And also, is that interview from the 2005 interview with Emerson Spartz and Melissa Anelli (sp) after HBP was released? If so, I loved that interview!
