Re: harry potter? - Cassie - 03-04-2008 06:06 PM

Exactly. She's had a long time to figure out how she's going to answer some of those obvious questions she knew were coming after DH hit stores. And she is very careful with word choices, I've noticed that in her interviews before.

And there is also something you said that I had actually never thought of before, and now I've read it, I totally agree. The number 7 has always been the key in the Harry Potter books. And I can completely understand how she would like to set out minds on the number 7, make us really believe that if this is, as I call, "The Harry Potter Number," that she could all completely shock us with a Faith Hook.
And as you said, she thought wrong. We've already read her mind like we read a HP book. We've got it all worked out. Wink Big Grin

And I was excited for Emerson and Melissa too. Particularly Emerson, because I visited MuggleNet more often, and I know how desperately he wanted to interview her. I remember reading about when he got the phone call from Jo one night. He is such a lucky guy. I love him too, lol. :Smile Big Grin

And yes, Inimitable, please, feel free to completely disagree with us! And don't worry, we won't start an argument, this thread is a happy thread. Smile

And I completely enjoy talking with you, too, Bambi! I've never had someone who agrees with me like you, or likes the same things I do like you, or like I said last night, someone who has the same mind as me! Big Grin

Yep. She's very careful with word choice. Her 'a's and 'the's even have reasoning behind them Wink

Haha, totally. She doesn't have anything on us. We've figured her out. I wonder if Panther would have figured that out... Wink They still haven't responded...

Same here. MuggleNet was my second home. Leaky-Cauldron...not so much. It was nice, but I just never really got in to it. Yeah, he's pretty lucky Wink

No, no arguing...debate, more like Wink Yes, this thread is a happy thread...as most HP threads are (except those crazy ship-centered threads Wink).

Haha, we really are too similar for our own good, aren't we? Now if only we could find more like us, unite, and take over Jo's mind so she'll give us a Faith Hook Wink

Re: harry potter? - Cassie - 03-04-2008 06:33 PM

To be honest, I think Panther's a liar... or a pretty shabby fan. He hasn't posted once since he started this topic, has he? And go on, you can take my Karma if you want, at least I wont have -23. :Smile

And if you would like to sign up to take over Jo's mind, anybody, please sign your name in this thread and we'll get back to you. Only good fans eligible. Terms and Conditions apply. Wink

So, I guess that's another topic settled. Jo will indeed be writing a Faith Hook. And that is that! Big Grin She could even be working on it right now, fibbing to us all when she says "if I ever do write another book, it could be in another 10 years or so." I'll wake up one morning in a year or 2, turn on the telly and it'll be reporting that Jo has just released a NEW FAITH HOOK! But then, I wouldn't know whether to be happy or sad. Because I love anticipating new books with other fans. And I'll have missed out on that.

But, now I'm trying to think of a new topic. So far, what's been discussed in full? It's all been pretty all over the place. But we've settled the Faith Hook matter, I think. Smile

Haha, Cassie's scrappy! I agree...maybe this thread was actually made to make fun of HP lovers like us. I can hear them saying "Oh, I totally love Harry Potter! It's the greatest series EVA! Go, Jo! Go, Jo! Harry Potter is my LIFE!" just to make fun of us...do you understand what I mean?

dateline= Wrote:And if you would like to sign up to take over Jo's mind, anybody, please sign your name in this thread and we'll get back to you. Only good fans eligible. Terms and Conditions apply. Wink

Haha, I love it! We should head over to MuggleNet and get some die-hard fans to sign up. They'd definitely do it Wink

Oh, I'm sure someone would let the cat out of the bag long before its release. I love waiting for books to...it really builds up the suspense and excitement.

Ten years...psh. She's such a faker Wink I bet she's sitting in a cafe right now, pretending to drink one of the fifteen coffees she ordered, and writing the Faith Hook...

dateline= Wrote:But, now I'm trying to think of a new topic. So far, what's been discussed in full? It's all been pretty all over the place. But we've settled the Faith Hook matter, I think. Smile

We've discussed the Faith Hook in length...the epilogue, movie premieres...we've touched on ships and what we think happened to the more minor characters...

How about we discuss...consistency. Did you think Jo was consistent with the storyline, the characters, and all the little details all the way through the series?

On a side note - I have to leave for a bit, so feel free to post an impossibly long message so I'll have lots to reply to when I return Wink

Re: harry potter? - Cassie - 03-04-2008 07:48 PM

I think I do. Do you mean, they'll post pretending they love HP but really they're faking because they think we're lame for loving it?

I'm on MuggleNet right now... have you noticed how so many people have abondoned the site since the book was released? Because most of them we're like us and we're on there for book-related news. Well, I'm sure they'll all be back when somebody spills about the Faith Hook Jo is brewing for us. Wink

And also, I've just had a look at the second picture from Emma's shoot on her site. I notice her hair is as blonde as always. Hermione is not. He hair is brown and bushy and thick like it was in PS/SS. I wish she'd stop trying to fib herself that she's a blonde when she's not. I can't believe Jo's letting her precious Hermione be played by a Blonde. :o Sad

And okay, I'm completely up for recruting MN members! Let's raid the comments and ask! :Smile Big Grin

About consistency, I think she was as consistent as she could be. I've read a bundle of minor errors she's made before, nothing too big. But everything else is consistent in my opinion. Maybe I haven't paid enough attention to this? I admit I've never discussed the consistency of the storyline, characters nor little things before, so I don't really have a firm answer. Sorry! :-[

And you want a HUGE post lol? Okay, I'm making it my mission! It's going to be pretty random though!

Firstly, what do you think of Ron's abandonment in Deathly Hallows? The book says that Dumbledore 'understood' Ron abandoning the group and gave him a way to come back. When/How did Dumbledore come to that conclusion? Has Ron done something in other books that foresees this? I can't recall any off the top of my head. I know in the 4th book they have a huge fight but I always attributed it to Ron's feelings of being in Harry's shadow once again and thinking Harry took him for granted and didn't trust him enough to tell him when and how he'd entered.

Secondly, what do you think of the James/Lily/Snape triangle? I absolutely adored reading the chapter in DH "The Prince's Tale". I always knew that Snape loved Lily, I found it a bit of a shock when people admitted taht they were really surprised of Severus' feelings for Lily. I love Lily and James together though. I'd love Jo to write more about their years at Hogwarts together. Their relationship really amused me, how Lily really hated James at first, and how James was so smitten with her. Jo is brilliant at writing down interesting relationships. But could you imagine if Lily had married Snape and Harry Potter would be Harry Snape, a glasses-less Hary with two curtains of greasy black hair and beady black eyes, a thriving Slytherin? It's unbearable! :o

Carrying on with relationships, what do you think of Rose/Scorpius. I think they are adorable! I think Ron pretty much opened Pandora's box in the Epilogue. Could you imagine if these two got together, the looks on Lucious and Arthur's faces? Hilarious! Big Grin
It would also mean that the remnants of the Black family end up with Weasleys, which is hilariously ironic.

And what about the Dusleys? Had they been following what was happening with Harry and realised how important he was? Did they stay safe? Imagine Vernon trying to read the wizarding newspapers!
What do you think happened to them? Should they have been mentioned towards the end of the book, as they have been with every other book? I think they should have been. I was really wondering if they ever met with Harry again. I assume they did, considering Dudley sees Harry's kids regularly now, Uncle Dudley lol! I hope Dudley really changed. Though I imagine Albus Severus, James and Lily were all immesnely scared of when Uncle Dudley came over to visit! I can't imagine it being a particularly thrilling visit. And I always wondered if maybe Dudley married a witch? That would be amazingly ironic! :o Big Grin

And lastly, what were your favourite lines in the books and/or movies? Some of mine are:

"Follow the spiders? Why couldn't it be follow the butterflies?"

"The spiders want me to tapdance! I don't wanna tapdance!" ("You tell those spiders, Ron")

Any line involving Nargles!

"Just because you've got the emotional range of a teaspoon."

"Harry, if you die down there, you're welcome to share my toilet."

"The Chinese Fireball, oooooooh!"

"Dumbledore's got style."

And there's tons more that I'll post later! Wink Big Grin

Pretty much. That's it in a nutshell. Kind of like teasing us.

dateline= Wrote:I'm on MuggleNet right now... have you noticed how so many people have abondoned the site since the book was released? Because most of them we're like us and we're on there for book-related news. Well, I'm sure they'll all be back when somebody spills about the Faith Hook Jo is brewing for us. Wink

I've noticed that, yes. It's kind of sad...but I admit, like you said, I was mostly interested in book news and theory discussions. So I understand why people don't visit as often anymore. But it's still a great site, and a true fan could never abandon that kind of place - it's like a shrine, almost Wink A Harry Potter shrine! Yeah, they'll be back when they catch wind of the Faith Hook, I assure you Wink

dateline= Wrote:And also, I've just had a look at the second picture from Emma's shoot on her site. I notice her hair is as blonde as always. Hermione is not. In all honesty, I've never believed that Emma is a natural blonde - the shade is just too fake, and I've seen dark roots in her hair. So either she just has funky hair or she's doing a poor job at trying to convince others her hair is blonde. She may have been blonde at one point, but I don't think she is anymore.

But as for the actual point to what you said, I agree. I've noticed how her hair is getting less bushy and thick in each movie, and I don't like that. I mean, I know that Jo said that as Hermione grew up she became more "appealing to the eye," but she still described Hermione's bushy hair throughout the whole series. Now it's just wavy.

dateline= Wrote:And okay, I'm completely up for recruting MN members! Let's raid the comments and ask! :Smile Big Grin

Sure thing! I doubt we'll have too many people arguing against a Faith Hook after they hear our logic Big Grin

dateline= Wrote:About consistency, I think she was as consistent as she could be. I've read a bundle of minor errors she's made before, nothing too big. No problem. I haven't discussed it much, myself. Just minor comments here and there...so that's why I brought up the topic - so we'd have to think Wink

I agree, she was as consistent as she could be. I mean, look at what she was dealing with - a totally complex storyline with very detailed characters with very distinct personalities. I'd have one heck of a time trying to keep track of all the little details. So, all in all, I think she did a pretty nice job in keeping things consistent.

dateline= Wrote:And you want a HUGE post lol? Okay, I'm making it my mission! It's going to be pretty random though!

Haha, thanks Wink

Well, for starters, Dumbledore understands things that nobody else can. There's no telling how he comes to the conclusions he does. But what I do know is that Ron had always been a bigger part of the story than what we originally thought him to be. And Dumbledore, being the wise man he was, already knew this. Plus, he understood Ron's tendency to get hot-headed, make a rash decision, and then feel dreadful about it later. It's kind of Ron's way of figuring things out and testing himself. Of course, Ron doesn't know this - but Dumbledore did. Therefore he understood.

This is how I see it anyway. Does it make sense? I can explain if more, if you want me to.

dateline= Wrote:Secondly, what do you think of the James/Lily/Snape triangle? I absolutely adored reading the chapter in DH "The Prince's Tale". I know, right?!? When people started posting stuff such as "OMG SNAPE AND LILY!!" I couldn't help but think "jeez, how could you have missed that? It's so obvious." Wink I loved that chapter, as well. But I agree, James and Lily are a much better match. It mirrors Hairy's relationship with Ginny in so many ways. (Although, even though I say it mirrors H/G's relationship, H/Hr shippers would use it to mirror Harry and Hermione's relationship - saying that Harry's just like his father and Hermione's the know-it-all, just like Lily...psh, those crazy shippers...it was meant to mirror H/G...jeez  :Smile) Oh, my! Harry Snape?? Not only does the name blow, but it just doesn't work. There'd be no story Wink Besides, I like how he has such unruly hair.

dateline= Wrote:Carrying on with relationships, what do you think of Rose/Scorpius. I think they are adorable! I think Ron pretty much opened Pandora's box in the Epilogue. Could you imagine if these two got together, the looks on Lucious and Arthur's faces? Hilarious! Big Grin

Oh, my goodness...I can't tell you how much I laughed when I figured this out. I immediately saw Lucious and Arthur's faces...it was hilarious! But aside from being completely ironic, I agree - it's quite cute, as well Wink

dateline= Wrote:And what about the Dusleys? Had they been following what was happening with Harry and realised how important he was? Did they stay safe? Imagine Vernon trying to read the wizarding newspapers!

I kind of always had the same feelings about Dudley as I had about Draco - cruncy and bitter on the outside, chewy and sweet on the inside...way, way inside. So I do think he's changed. Yeah, Jo said that Albus, James and Lily always dreaded going to Uncle Dudley's (*snickers* Wink) house.

That would be hilarious if Dudley married a witch. Although, to be honest, I find it highly unlikely. I mean, he didn't really have much contact with anyone magical besides Harry (and Hagrid, I suppose Wink). But that would be a riot if he ended up with a witch anyway Big Grin

And finally, I imagine Petunia and Vernon stayed safe. Although, to be honest, I would have traded their lives any day in exchange for a couple of other characters to survive...the poor dears...

Haha, Vernon reading the Daily Prophet...what a hoot! Big Grin

dateline= Wrote:And lastly, what were your favourite lines in the books and/or movies? Some of mine are:

Oh, I'm in love with all of those! Especially the last one - mostly because I just love the way the actors played it out. (Same thing goes for the first couple Wink).

In all honesty, it would take me months to write out my favourite quotes...and it would probably end up being the same as the books themselves without the descriptions and such!! Big Grin But in general, my favourite quotes were mostly said by Ron, Dumbledore, and Hermione. And some of Ginny's and Arthur's are kickers, as well.

OH! Now I have an excuse to reread all the books! I'll read them all and be writing down the best quotes as I go. Then I'll PM them to you. How does that sound? Big Grin

And about this entire post - sorry if any of it didn't make sense...I think you gave me your headache Wink

On a side note, I'd like to say that, as I post this, you are one post away from 1,000 Wink

Re: harry potter? - Cassie - 04-04-2008 12:59 AM

About Emma not being a natural blonde, a wholly agree. If you look at some of the pictures of when she was little, her hair is brown. She might have been dark blond when she was really little, but that quickly faded. I don't know why she bleaches her hair blonde - she looks lovely with brown her too! That's another thing - I always thought she was too pretty for Hermione. Don't get me wrong, I'm not being a jealous fangirl or anything, I think she is beautiful and that doesn't effect how much I like her, but before the movies came out, I always pictured Hermione pretty much like she was in PS/SS - but a smidge uglier. Big teeth, less flawless skin and things. And I love the colour pink, but she seriously overdoes it. She is always wearing pink in the movies, and I never really imagined Hermione as the "pink" sort of girl. Though maybe that's just me. I miss them wearing the Hogwarts robes. Ever since POA, the movies have been portraying the trio in muggle clothing consistantly, and barely ever showing them in uniform. It gives the Hogwarts feel to have Hogwarts robes on.

And I'll just continue about Emma for a moment. I have to complain about her acting. Some of her scenes, she overdoes it way too much. And she uses her eyebrows to win every award she has! Seriously, her eyebrows are like a charcter of their own!

And I agree, Jo was amazingly consistent considering the complexity of the storyline. So many little details can make the big difference. But she weaved it all together fantastically well, with very little misconceptions. Just another reason why I love Jo. Smile

As for Dumbledore, I do understand you. And I hate to say that I agree. I'm determined to disagree with you one day! Big Grin But you just gotta love Dumbledore. He truly is the best! Why can't I have a headmaster like that at my school? We used to have an awful headmaster, he liked to steal food from the cafeteria before lunch, explaining why he was morbidly obsese. Also, he stole LOTS of money from the school finance office and was therefore fired. So now we actually have something to eat at lunch. It's great! Big Grin

And that's another reason why I love James and Lily! Because they mirror Harry and Ginny! I cannot believe I forgot to mention that! And I understand, if it was Harry Snape there'd be know story. Sad But still, it's a weird prospect to acknowledge.
And I need to add, what you said about Harry's unruly hair - Does it annoy you too that Harry doesn't really have unruly hair in the movies? I know I'm going on about the characters hair again, but it is important to me! The only movie where they stay true to Harry having unruly hair is in POA. And maybe a little GOF. But in PS/SS, CoS, OOTP and now HBP, his hair is neat. Particularly in the first two. And Dan's eyes are blue. But I won't poke him with my pitchfork for that - he can't help that he has blue eyes, after all.

About Dudley marrying a witch - true, it's unlikely, although it would be extremely amusing if he did. I think he learned to accept Harry much more easily than Vernon and Petunia ever could, after all. I always imagined him quite relaxed with the wizarding world and those that inhabit it now.

If you're going to be rereading the series, then I will too! I've read it so often now that I can read them through extremely quickly. Though I'll take more care this time round, so I can collect all my favourite quotes too! And I'll let you know when I've gathered them all! Wink Oooh, one's just popped into my head! In the OOTP book, unsure which chapter, but it is when Harry is over at Grimauld Place after being told he will be attending a hearing to ensure his attending Hogwarts.
I think Molly goes something like, "Ooh, Ronnie! (Ron had just became Prefect). That's everyone in the family!"
And then George comes out with, "What are Fred and I, next-door neighbours?
Big Grin My gosh there's so many, a few more have come into my head, but I'll save them for when I go through the book, as I still have that terrible headache. I notice I've passed it on to you! I'm genuinely very sorry about that! I'm an idiot. :Smile Lol.

And don't worry about your post not making sense - it made perfect sense to me. I frequently post things I can't understand myself. It always seems so jumbled.

And yes, I'm finally on a 1,000 (well, a smidge past that) posts! Big Grin

First, I'll comment about the hair - I don't know why she bleaches it. Maybe she thinks people like blondes better. Who knows...I, personally, think she looks better as a brunette. It definitely suits her more than blonde does.

Second, about Hermione - I don't know...I mean, I always pictured her as one of the geekier girls, but Jo kept saying she was very pretty under all the hair (Smile). My point is, I don't think I'd necessarily call her ugly. But with the later movies, I definitely agree that Emma got way too "pretty" to play Hermione (if any of that makes sense Big Grin).

And, finally, I agree. I'm always saying "where did the robes go?!?" I think that's mostly the director's fault, to be honest. But I also agree about the pink...way too much... Wink

dateline= Wrote:And I'll just continue about Emma for a moment. I have to complain about her acting. Some of her scenes, she overdoes it way too much. And she uses her eyebrows to win every award she has! Seriously, her eyebrows are like a charcter of their own!

FINALLY! Oh my goodness, I can't tell you how happy you just made me!! Nobody has ever agreed with me about that before Big Grin

Her eyebrows are crazy! They're, like...alive or something! Speaking of eyebrows - those use to be bushy, too. Now they're all trimmed up and perfect...that's so not like Hermione.

And yes, Emma overacts quite a bit. Honestly, I don't think she'll get much work besides Harry Potter. She suits the part quite well, except for the areas that we're currently discussing, but I think Hermione Granger is one of the few roles she'll ever get.

dateline= Wrote:And I agree, Jo was amazingly consistent considering the complexity of the storyline. So many little details can make the big difference. But she weaved it all together fantastically well, with very little misconceptions. Just another reason why I love Jo. Smile

Okay, seriously, we agree way too much Wink But there's nothing wrong with that Big Grin

I use to say (and sometimes still do, in a way) that Jo isn't really a great writer, per se. I think she's a better story teller. I don't know if this makes much sense, and I'm certainly not taking a stab at her writing. As we agreed before, she is wonderful when it comes to word choices and such. I think her writing is great - it's just, it gets a bit dull when it comes to explaining and the like. I think her real strength is in the creation of the story itself. (Again, don't get me wrong - she's fabulous in both areas. I'm just saying she shines when it comes to making such an intricate storyline and keeping up with it.)

Anyway, it doesn't have much to do with the consistency thing and I'm not sure if it made much sense (that's why I don't really say it much anymore, because people get the wrong idea), but I just thought I'd add that.

dateline= Wrote:As for Dumbledore, I do understand you. It's great! Big Grin

I'm not so sure that day will ever come Smile Especially not when it comes to Harry Potter Wink

I agree, I would love to have had a headmaster like Dumbledore. He's one of the many reasons (and probably one of the more important reasons) why I wanted to go to Hogwarts. I love Dumbledore - he's an amazingly fascinating character. He's...unexplainable, really Big Grin

dateline= Wrote:And that's another reason why I love James and Lily! Because they mirror Harry and Ginny! I cannot believe I forgot to mention that! And I understand, if it was Harry Snape there'd be know story. Sad But still, it's a weird prospect to acknowledge.

I know it is Smile I always like wondering "what if it had been like this?"...it totally messes with my mind Wink

dateline= Wrote:And I need to add, what you said about Harry's unruly hair - Does it annoy you too that Harry doesn't really have unruly hair in the movies? I know I'm going on about the characters hair again, but it is important to me! The only movie where they stay true to Harry having unruly hair is in POA. And maybe a little GOF. But in PS/SS, CoS, OOTP and now HBP, his hair is neat. Particularly in the first two. And Dan's eyes are blue. But I won't poke him with my pitchfork for that - he can't help that he has blue eyes, after all.

First, about the eyes - Yeah, there's not much he could do about that. Although, there are coloured contacts, so if they really wanted to stay true to the story they would have gave Dan a set to wear...but whatever.

And about the hair - I completely agree. It's kind of like the issues we have with Emma/Hermione. Just carelessness, really. I would wait longer for the movies if it meant they were more precise. But, again, whatever. What's done is done. We'll always have the books Big Grin

dateline= Wrote:About Dudley marrying a witch - true, it's unlikely, although it would be extremely amusing if he did. I think he learned to accept Harry much more easily than Vernon and Petunia ever could, after all. I always imagined him quite relaxed with the wizarding world and those that inhabit it now.

I definitely agree about him adjusting better than his parents - they seemed pretty steadfast in their beliefs. Dudley, however, never quite seemed to know what to make of it. He was just scared of magic, he didn't hate it per se.

And about him marrying a witch - again, it's like thinking "what if..." It's pretty funny trying to imagine Dudley with a witch Big Grin

dateline= Wrote:If you're going to be rereading the series, then I will too!
:Smile Lol.

I love rereading the books, as I'm sure I've stated before. And I'm the same way - now that I've read them so many times, I can read through them like children's bedtime stories. I know, there are tons of good quotes - again, Jo's genius at work Wink (Haha, I love Gred and Forge...well, I loved...Sad)

dateline= Wrote:And don't worry about your post not making sense - it made perfect sense to me. I frequently post things I can't understand myself. It always seems so jumbled.

And yes, I'm finally on a 1,000 (well, a smidge past that) posts! Big Grin

Okay, good Smile I'm always so worried my post won't make sense and someone will get the wrong idea or something.

And congratulations!

Okay, firstly - Sorry for not replying sooner! I didn't even realise anyone had replied and then I looked and saw you'd replied ages ago! :Smile So I would like to apologise for my utter stupidity.

Firstly, about Emma and her blonde phase - I too think she has her mind set on being a blonde because as they say "gentlemen prefer blondes." :Smile She needs to stop taking this to heart. I'm a blonde myself so please nobody say I'm just being negative about blonde hair and all that like other people do on some sites. Seriously, brunette is just as beautiful as blonde, and she pulls of being a brunette way better than being a blonde. I'm sure Hermione would agree with me. Smile

About Hermione being ugly - don't worry, I never meant that! I just meant she'd be a smidge uglier than Emma is, because Emma is a very pretty girl. I think Hermione would be quite plain. Just like most people, I guess. Not ugly, not pretty, just plain.

I was on Emma-Watson-fans.net and they posted something about Emma's acting ability, and it said that one of the crew (can't remember who, but I think it was a pretty important member) had said that many people on set found Emma's acting poor and her ability to learn her lines quickly enough was even worse. And I know there are many people who agree with us, too. Those eyebrows in particular, they send me cross-eyed just watching them! Have you seen this video on YouTube? It's dedicated to Emma's Oscar-Winning Eybrows!  Big Grin http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nQJ4ClngaoA

And about Emma not gaining many more roles than Hermione... agreed! However, you'd be surprised how many people disagree with us. I've looked at several polls asking who is most likely to obtain a very succesful career when the HP movies are done, and Emma is always sitting pretty on top. :Smile

About Jo not being a great "writer"... I'm worried now. We agree too much for it to be normal. I've thought this myself many times, and I know exactly what you mean. She's great at creating the story - the characters, settings, plots. But sometimes she isn't quite as brilliant at putting those fantastic ideas into words. I know. I do have a particular bother with her description. Some of the scenes she created are dazzling, you can just picture them in your mind, but yet, she doesn't use any particularly outstanding descriptive words when there's a huge library of them to choose from. If you understand what I mean. Her vocabulary gets a touch annoying, anyway. That's basically what I'm saying. Wink

And moving on to Dan's blue eyes - I always wondered about contacts, but somebody on MuggleNet I think it was, once explained to me that apparently Dan did indeed first go with contacts, but they irrated his eyes or something. Or using contacts just would not work for some scenes. I can't remember clearly, but anyway, I think they did try with green contacts in the beginning.

And about Dudley, I agree. There was never any mention of Dudley hating magic, or even any hints. Like you said, he didn't really know what to make of it, but he was indeed frightened of it. But he never hated it.

And thanks both Bambi and Paul for congratulating me on my 1,000! Big Grin Next mission - 2,000. Though it seems you two are almost there. Wink Big Grin

Also, what do you think of Emma's new headshots? Does anyone else find them...well, bland, boring and not particularly flattering? Because I do.

Her lips look very brown/purple and almost dead-looking! But I have to say, the last is my favourite! She looks fresh and clean and natural in that one.
