console games are stupid because little 10 year olds get it and say:
where's the blood? can you fight? is it nicktoons? and end up hating it.

“The June launch combined with the break-through game the team is building gives us the perfect runway to create awareness for The Sims 3,” said Russell Arons, Vice President of Marketing for EA. “The Sims 3 will be the original IP summer blockbuster of 2009 as we build off the success of the best-selling PC franchise of all time to create awareness with both loyal Sims fans and new players.”

Is he serious? HELLLOOOO pretty much everyone is "aware" of ts3!!! And even if they aren't it's because they did a sh***y job at marketing! He mentions us as being loyal, I wonder how long that's going to last.......
Really!

If they wanted to raise awareness , then make a commercial during the Super Bowl!

Everyone in America would know!

Since money means so much to them I guess they were to cheap to do a super bowl commercial.  {rolleyes}

They're too cheap to do a TV commercial...period.

This is just annoying.
It seems like EVERYTHING is being pushed back due to money...

I hope June comes soon, and that they give us some new info that doesn’t ruin any of the surprises.

At least Christmas wasn’t delayed guys  {rolleyes}

Re: RELEASE DATE; June 3rd 2009! - sims3luva22 - 04-02-2009 12:37 AM

Imho, there is only around a couple million under their belts from the pre-orders nationwide. Of course they have their own funding and they have bills, and they have to pay the developers, testers etc.

Because they didn't market themselves like they should've, they now have until June to do so which we all are aware had been previously decided, they just chose today to let us know.

Because they "tempted" us with a Feb release, they already have our pre-oder money, interest, and fanbase under their belt. Of course you could cancel it and get your money back but once it's already paid off, most people will wait until the release date and not ask for their money back unless they desperately need it.

June will give them plenty of time to feature commercials (probably edited from the creator's camp) new screenies and vids, and blogs to keep the already waiting fans happy, and they make more money with newer pre-orders from all of the commercials, marketing etc that will be going on over the next few months.

Come summer, tons of new fans will be enticed by all the ads and promotions that they will want to get the game and play it over the summer. No work (for certain fans) no school, and not too many people are into "going outside" especially with a new amazing game in their hands.

This was planned from the very start. More revenue, more marketing, more fans, MORE MONEY!
{woot}

I didn't get crap for Christmas, except some cheap perfume...then my brother got $400 spent on him.

Her reason was next year, something new may come out.  Then now she's say ing Christmas is in the past, and she can't afford crap.

I know Christmas isn't about presents, but my only gift shouldn't be some Brittany Spears perfume.

My pet died though the day after Christmas.

Thats true. I was saying the same thing that I have not once seen a commercial for the Sims 3. But quite be honest when the Sims 2 came out on Sept. 17th, before it did. I never once saw a commercial, but the marketing department for the Sims 2 did an outstanding job I must say, the website was great and as well as the community. What happened to the Sims 3 marketing team is what I would like to know.

I heard from other resources that EA has had a new president or something like that, and ever since this man has been in, games have been shifted from left to right. I don't know if thats true, but based on what has happened today, I believe anything.

The top people in EA get about  billion dollars a year (no joke)   So money shouldn't be an object
