NO she won't die, well atleast we don't think, but the vampire wants to do everything in his power to protect her. He's never met anyone like her so yeah... Just go read it.

Just read it yourself and you'll see why it's so popular. You might be turned off at first and think it's just for girls but it seriously isn't. You'll be surprised how many male fans the books have, actually.
To answer your questions, no she does not die, as far as we know so far, I assume that is revealed in Breaking Dawn, but I doubt death is on her hands.
And when she first gets to know him, she has no idea he is a vampire, just that he's mysterious and strange but ludicrously enticing. It's only later she finds out he's a vampire and becomes friends with the rest of his family (well, excluding Rosalie, sort of).

Anywhere! I don't know that many US bookstores, but I know there's a Borders. But practically any store would sell them.
