Re: Your OWN Sims 3 - CelestialLegend - 24-03-2008 11:53 PM ;D [glow=red,2,300]Your ideas are freakin FANTASTIC!!!! Loved a lot of them Though I will admit there are some of them I was kinda SO-SO on. but either way! good job[/glow] Re: Your OWN Sims 3 - Pathos - 25-03-2008 12:14 AM Just wanted to add also, a cool idea I just realized would be to have a Spore-Sims cross-over in my purposed Sims 3: Powergrid. With the alien contact bit, you can make contact with species reminiscent of those that are makable in Spore. And instead of the generic green aliens and generic UFOs, when you make alien contact each time it's a unique experience. You can encounter aliens with six long appendages and tails who come in cylinders bringing peace, speaking an unintelligible language (or a language that can be comprehended and spoken if you have the Sims 3: International) Or you can come across a race of grunting brutes who come in ships reminiscent of UFOs and come bringing war and destruction (which is the whole purpose of the military in the Sims 3, to counteract such things.) And there's the prospect that in The Sims 3: Civil Justice or The Sims 3: Existentialism that a Sims Political Views or Morals will pertain to such things as whether to talk to aliens or to wed aliens. I doubt that these aliens would be able to mate with regular Sims, especially since the results would be like, crazy lol Your Sims could either embrace the presense of Aliens, or pull a Gaston and get the entire town to try and kill them all.

As opposed to a prolonged happiness from playing it becomes a sugar rush effect where it's "Oh look, I did this!" and then it dies down and is replaced with "Meh, alright." I'll agree that some of my measures might be a bit much, but the general idea is that cheating shouldn't be an instant "Whoopie!" thing. Once you unlock those cheats, they're there, and if things fall on hard times -- I know this from experience -- those cheats WILL be used. : ![]() Ideally, a game such as the Sims -- which is more akin to a toy -- should even at the most basic level remain interesting for the longest breadth of time. By this I mean, even without any of the EPs you can remain captivated in the game for months at a time as opposed to a few days of "Wow this is cool." And speaking of EPs, my own personal favorites of all these is the Athletes and International EPs (which is weird to say since I came up with them all). As an athlete the former really appeals to me, and it breaks away from the generic Athletic Career Track (most of these expansion packs are based around the different careers, on account that ideally this new game revamps them all and makes them unique.) The International One is also a personal favorite of mine since it establishes that there are other "Nationalities" of Sims who speak languages like Gobbledygook, Balderdash, Preved (Russian Internet Slang), and Greek. It isn't simply snobby tourists going to other regions going "O, how strange are their customs!", it's rather you visiting other countries who's economies don't revolve around you being there. It would also be interesting if, over time and through the generations, you can get an entire town to migrate from being default speakers of Simlish to another one of the available languages. This is also quite possible since I have in mind a new talking system, in which volcabulary is based upon the surrounding environments and exposer to sounds. So -- a young Sim especially -- exposed to a bunch of people speaking Gobbledygook, would become fluent at speaking Gobbledygook. A Sim exposed to people speaking Balderdash will become a fluent speaker of Balderdash. Preved; Preved. Greek; Greek. And so forth. [/quote] The thing about the cheats is people would still memorize things, and testers wouldn't be able to test CC as easily. I don't use cheats all that much anymore (I used to be so addicted the game wasn't fun, so I stopped myself and I use them very sparingly now) and once the Sims 3 comes out, I'll play the game without cheats for ages until I want to get really creative with them (money cheats, moveobjects, boolprop) but never things like maxmotives that take away the point. *sigh* I just can't wait for the Sims 3. I like your International idea there, though I think they'll seperate bits of town into the sims equivilant of "Chinatown" (to use an example) where things are different and most of the people speak a different language. You have some good ideas like that. I just didn't like the cheats bit. Re: Your OWN Sims 3 - mamaha - 25-03-2008 01:47 AM i want more than one job that would be aosum Re: Your OWN Sims 3 - larue1123 - 25-03-2008 01:48 AM i hope boolprop and motherlode/kaching are still the same cheats! Re: Your OWN Sims 3 - Pathos - 25-03-2008 02:08 AM (25-03-2008 01:47 AM)mamaha link Wrote:i want more than one job that would be aosum Well that's the thing: in this purposed version of the Sims it's not the usual career paths that are basically cookie cut with some minor alterations. In this it's a matter of economic interdependence and maintaining the efficiency of the neighborhood. It isn't simply go to work come home with more money (which is a rather selfish view of it). Through a Sims work, he adds to the mood of the town both through it's "Mood Meter" and through the economy. He also provides valuable services. Unlike Sims games in the past, in this version YOU are responsible for providing the basic services such as a police force, firefighters, registers, newspaper deliverers, mailmen, teachers, doctors, psychiatrists, and social services. For subsequent expansions you have to make the farms which provide the food for the grocers, pharmacists to help the doctors with their work, scientists to help the pharmacists, radio and television stations to span the airways and keep Sims entertained, and more and more and more. Re: Your OWN Sims 3 - BrokenHeartTheory - 25-03-2008 02:18 AM Pathos, make sure you label what is and what isn't confirmed for the game, there are a lot of simmers here that will expect everything you're saying without reading the entire thing.
