I dislike the other way. Fairy versus Faerie? Pretty obvious which is prettier. I don't know why it was ever changed...

For the most part, old English is a lot prettier. It's been watered down.

That's just it, really. Languages change over time. As they get passed on from generation to generation, they become easier to say, spell, etc. They usually become shorter and less precise, as well.

Basically, they become watered down.

It still seems wierd, I was sure I had read or heard the reason for it. Well, I always used to spell it 'Faerie' but then I got into the habbit of spelling it normal, which is why I was surprised when I found I had posted it the old-English way. I think I will always spell it like that from now on, don't care if it's not how it's spelled these days. Tongue
