im not going with death by car crash!

Re: car crashes! - justinL92 - 22-12-2008 12:19 AM

Yea I like that idea better because I do not want to be making a video and wham! my sims just crashed randomly.

Re: car crashes! - yummybunny - 22-12-2008 12:24 AM

True...you'd be traumatized.

Then imagine single parents?  Like let's say the father's a deadbeat or dead...you don't want the mother randomly dying like that.

And that wouldn't be good for the game.  They usually don't put realistic deaths in the game.  Like car wrecks, airplane crashes, cancer and stuff, because EA knows that a lot of their customers had family or friends die like that.  And who wants to be reminded of that.

Death of flies is something that no one has died of...well, probably in The Bible.  But that's why their deaths are so realistic and purposeful...you have to do it on purpose.

Imagine that you had a friend that died in a car wreck, do you want your sim dying like that in your game?

Re: car crashes! - justinL92 - 22-12-2008 12:29 AM

Yea I don't think the death by crashes will be too graphic, because little kids that play the sims would not wont to see their sims die like that.

Re: car crashes! - yummybunny - 22-12-2008 12:42 AM

I really doubt that your sims can die like that.

I just think that they would have to go to the hospital and would be on sick leave at their jobs.

Them dying would be upsetting for those players who had had a family member die in a crash before.

They should stick to the wacky, funny deaths that can be done on purpose and under circumstance.

WAIT WAIT....

you guys want this game to be good, realistic and all right?

then why wouldnt you want car crashes, exactly what angel said... we have it all the time in real life why would we want it in a video game?

well your answer is BECAUSE its in real life.... in real life we dont want to get in the accident but sometimes it happens... single parents? happens... real life things need to happen in a game thats trying to be real life... its just how it is, THATS what MAKES the story!!!!!!!

plus they arent real people, and like i said, call the grim reaper.

Re: car crashes! - yummybunny - 22-12-2008 12:56 AM

Well, usually the grim reaper isn't callable in the base game, which we will have for a while. So when our sim is dead, too bad, he is dead.

So no, we don't want our sims dying in a car wreck.  You may want the game completely realistic, but others don't.  We don't want to be making a movie or something, then BAM!  Our sim is dead!

People have had things happen in their lives that they don't want in their game.  If you are suffering from cancer, do you want your sim to die of cancer?  I bet not.

And a game is meant to be enjoyable, the sims is not a complete real life simulator.  Until some of these people who don't understand has something happen to them, they won't understand.

I am nineteen years old and I know for a fact that all this crap happens, but you need to understand other stuff too about what people would and wouldn't want in their games.  And who on here said they want the game realistic?

When people say realistic...they mean better looking people, anything besides realistic causes of death.

I am also on other forums and this has been talked about...people do not want realistic deaths...those who do or wanna fuss about it isn't sensitive enough.  This isn't Medical Emergency or The Real Life Simulator...

Well put Suggie!

Maybe, you can have an option "Drive in a Hurry" ,  Mmaybe you sims is late for work, and they need to hurry, but there is a 5% chance that they will be in a wreck, and they will automatically go to the hospital (in a goffy manner, not paramedics comeing out with blood all over them, but like the paramedics come out with a bed thing, and they keep tripping,)  and then, once they are at the hospital, their loved ones get a call. With the call, an opportunity comes up. "Come to the hospital and pay the fine" > 100% chance of survival. "Come to the Hospital and try to cheat them for a lower price" > 70% chance. "Leave the Sim there and go on with your life." > 40% chance.  But who would do the last one?

Re: car crashes! - dana2112 - 22-12-2008 04:29 AM

mr.simmy, very good... thats a good idea of what to do...
but honestly, its the sims, if something happens it happens... i was in a car accident when i was five and it was pretty bad, you dont see me complaining about it now.. i still want car crashes in it... its not going to make the game bad, and its not anything like CANCER... now that would be a little out of hand... car crashes are one thing, cancer is another.... so tough it out... its a game, theyre the sims. its fun.

Re: car crashes! - pablo247 - 22-12-2008 05:00 AM

Maybe it has something to do with the "clumsy" trait. Clumsy sims are more likely to crash their cars, or hit a pedestrian or something like that.. Or there could be a trait "bad driver"... haha. Tongue
