I personally don't want to spend my summer playing the Sims. I want to go out as much as possible, maybe get a boyfriend and be more social. And also I must do some project fo college. {unsure}

More kids might want to purchase a game in the summer holidays but, there's no stopping them doing that even if it was released in Feb, right? The kids who just want a game to play during Summer, they can buy Sims 3 and off they go. And us hardcore players can just go get it in Feb. I don't see how it would really had made a difference, but I suppose they know what they're doing... or think they do, anyhoo.
This is gonna be a looong 4 months guys. We can do it though.

Yes what you had mentioned Cassie does make sense.
I think in EA's minds, with a game like Sims 3, most of which its target audience are teens, figure they make more of a profit in the summer, because everyone out of school.
When its hot outside, you can stay cool and play the Sims 3, but they just made a foul mistake by not giving us the info on the delay back in early January.

It will be winter here in Australia, so it is obviously also an American target as well.
As it doesn't get really cold where I live, it would be better if it came out in summer here. We spend our winters outside in the sun, keeping warm. I better buy a heater.

ya, plus June 2nd is bad for me because I will be on a retreat from May 30th to June 6th so I won't be playing it until the 6th at the earliest and that means I will have to trust that my parents remember to pick it up before the store sells my pre-ordered copy to somebody else. Ugh, I'm sad that I won't be playing on release day and I won't get to be here either
