I'm pretty sure I've read a few FF's that are longer than the actual books (well, possibly excluding OOTP lol). Some people are complety devoted to their writing. What kind of FF's do you guys prefer to read? I have to admit, I mostly read romance ones. Ron/Hermione, Harry/Ginny, Neville/Luna and sometimes Draco/Hermione (yes, I know. But there's something appealing about this ship to me). I usually read them on checkmated.com but I have a nosy on many other sites too. Smile

I read the romance ones, too. I don't see much point to reading the others. Granted, there's no real point to reading the ship FFs anymore, now is there? Now I pretty much just read the stories that take place after the 7th book.

I know. I don't read any new ones about ships anymore except ones that take place after and missing moments in the books. However, you know, I read an old FF last week, one from 1999, when I started reading, and it was the first FF I ever read, and it made me cry. I'm just a nostalgic person, I guess. :Smile My cousin (who at the time was quite a HP fan, not quite like us though) was showing me how to use the internet and asked me if there was anything in particular I liked, and I said HP, and she searched it up and Fanfiction.net came up and I just started reading random stories on there. Granted I was just 6 at the time so I couldn't understand it, but I just thought it was really weird reading it again all these years later when we know what happens to everybody. I mean, the movies weren't even going on then. So yes, thought I'd randomly share that with you all. But I do read some old ones I read before DH was released because I like to remember how close they were to how things actually ended up. I remember reading one FF that played out a lot like Ron and Hermione's kiss was like in DH, it was scarily similar, I thought that as soon as I read the kiss in DH.

Bambi, what site(s) are your stories on, I'd love to read them some time? Smile

Aww, that's pretty neat Smile

I know, I love reading some of the older ones just to see how close they were. I, also, remember one that was so close to the final battle it's spooky. I mean, even the same people died! It really was creepy.

Most of my shorter stories are spread around a ton of sites that, unfortunately, I can't remember off the top of my head. But let me search for the links and I'll PM them to you. (They're somewhere in my Favorites folder... Wink)
