moodlets, good or bad? - sims3luva22 - 11-04-2008 10:12 PM

I was wondering how you think moodlets will effect your sims. With the seamless neighborhood and with gossip, and "life stories" of other sims and townies going on, how do you think it will effect your sims let alone the whole town?

Just think, your Sim just got a promotion and a pop up just displayed a good moodlet that may last for days making your Sim excel at pretty much anything he or she does.

Two hours later (game hours) you get a warning that your Sims' boss/lover was just engaged. All of a sudden, her mood crashes to an altime low.

My point here is, if we will be hearing gossip, and moodlets that tell us what other Sims are up to, this may have a great effect on our Sims. How do you think this will effect them if every moment we turn around something out of our control is happening? Will it be a roller coaster affect on our Sims moods making it even more of a challenge to play them? Or does life just go on for our Sims as well.

Please note that I'm not disagreeing with the way things are being developed for ts3 I just like to hear what you guys really think about it.

hmm i never thought about it that hard
you have a point though
its gonna be a challenge to keep them happy
im glad gossip keeps our sims aware of everything so that they dont have to always be there to know the truth though.

That's so true, I mean if your sim was cheating, they may hear about it before you can catch em but it would be cool for them to choose to believe it or not

I think that they will be good. It will change things up a bit. I am actually looking forward to the change!

I think that the game will be managable. I think TS1 was the hardest game of all. Maybe it was because it was younger and I didn't have very good time managment skills, but TS2 in comparison is a breeze. I doubt the moodlets are going to have THAT much of an effect. They'll probably work like things do in real life. If you get dumped, you're probably sad, but do you lose the ability to function as a human? Doubtful.

I think sims will be the same way. Hearing about your former lover's engagement might make your sim have lots of dreams about finding the right person for them, or they could not be so eager to go on date after date. Either way I think we'll be able to maintain control over them. Just like right now we can follow or sims aspirations, or we can ignore them.

Your r right in a sort with ur opinions. this will diffently cause a problem if ur sims keeps having changing moodlets due to gossip
