i'm not sure if anyone heard, but apparently the sims is being turned into a movie which is suppose to debut in 2009. The setting takes place in Pleasantview. Here's the summary:
Pleasantview is one of the most delightful neighbourhoods to live in, everybody is happy, the grass is always green, children are always well-mannered. But newcomer Andie starts to uncover the 'real' pleasantview, for not only are Pleasantville full of cheating, lying, decieving, secret-ridden people like the Goths, Don Lothario and the struggling Newbies, but they are being ruled by a greater power. Andie is terrified to discover they are stuck in a video game being played by millions universally.

Yeah, I heard of it. They were plannining this since early 2000 I think.
Its funny that the update we get doesn't concern ts3 but I'd still go see it.

I'm not thrilled that the sims are supposed to be real actors and actresses. I think that takes all the fun out of it. Then there will be no difference in the sims and the humans controlling them.

maybe they thought it'd b pointless to watch an animated movie, i'd probably turn out like all the user movies that we make.

No way, I'm thinking it would be more like the trailer for TS2. Only not so cartoony. More like TS3 style.

They will be using proper actors for this movie, right? I imagine it set in Pleasantview, but a human Pleasantview filled with human 'Sims'. :-\

hmmmm, i'm not quite sure about this movie yet.

it seems as if all they're doing is making a normal movie and putting sims in the name.
