Censoring - Chanel - 12-07-2008 07:58 PM

I think for all forums there is a way to censor any word, and I have an idea. You see, at an old forum I used to go to, for bad words they entered weird and random censors such as cell phone. And everyone stopped cussing so they wouldn't look stupid! I know nobody cusses here but stil.

They do censor words here, trust me. Wink

Not that I do curse anyway, but in the odd PM I have had the urge to swear and found my words covered up with more appropriate words. {yes}

But I do see how you mean, using sillier words instead, so they'd want to avoid it. However as you said, there's really no need just yet because we don't have members who swear all the time, thank goodness. Smile

Exactalactally. In fact, a certain member and myself figured out all (or most, anyway) of the censored words. Wink

There's poo, fudge, funking, bar steward (love this one), cock... they are the only ones I have ever tried to use in the first place, so I wouldn't know the others. You know what they stand for, I'm guessing. Wink

Re: Censoring - bambigoddess - 13-07-2008 03:48 AM

Wouldn't the funny words get confusing? I mean, if you substitute "banana" for a...nasty word, and then you call someone a banana, they might think you're calling them...a nasty word. Do you see what I mean? Haha, I doubt it would happen often, but still...
