hears what i want this site to do {clap}1. what server are you useing if you host it on your home switch to Windows server 2008 ( Trust me its better than linux and 2003)
2. Nice site
3. SMF is great always stick with them
4. it will be better if you compete with other sim fan sites
5. if you dont have a server for this site i think you should for more faster performance

Thanks for the feedback. Please see my replies to your suggestion below;
1) We are hosted by a professional hosting company. Hosting a decent server in your home really isn't a viable option as you need fast data connections to the internet, solid backup solutions, redundant power supplies etc. To do this from your own home would be VERY expensive!

4) We hope to 'compete' in the future, but we're more concerned on making these forums a great place for member we have right now, and if we get that right then other people should come along and join our community.
5) As mentioned in 1, we are hosted on a server by a professional hosting company. It basically works in that the more money you throw that the server the faster it gets. As we don't make any money from these forums or SimsFans.com, and I pay the hosting bills from my own pocket, we cannot afford to move to the best server in the world! But I believe that the current solution is fast enough for the time being.

Anyways the Ui and everything is basic just what i love about this
makes me feel sims3 typeish

He did, until we moved it over to my server! Hopefully we'll be moving it back to his though when his system is fully developed.
