It's probably going to be an illegal copy.
I would just wait until the 2nd when it's legally released.

I agree with Jenipurr. Wait and buy the genuine game. I think if Sims 3 will be downloaded illegally as much as Spore was EA would put very evil copy protection on the EPs. EA listened to the simmers that didn't want the evil SecuRom in Sims 3, so we all should be thankful and buy the game legally.

But I heard it does ship to some stores on the 26th along with the strategy guides, my Gamestop just confirmed that they will be getting their copies early next week, so possibly, she may get a legit copy.
Bad thing is, TS3 website isn't up or anything, so she can't register and get the full release-day benefits...but at least her game won't have the same serial numbers as the leaked version.

It's being SHIPPED. That's NOT the release date.
Just because the store HAS it early does not mean they are allowed to sell it early. Even if it's a legit copy, that likely means they're going to be stealing it from the store.
I worked at a toy store, I know how these things work.

I know what the ship date is and what the release date is. And it is still possible to get the shipped game, even if it hasn't been released, and that's what she's gonna do, it seems like.
I been watching different games for years, so yes, I do know that stores have the game ahead of time.
I was saying that she could have a legit copy of the game before the 2nd...a copy before the release doesn't mean it's a fake...she just cannot enjoy her full benefits or go online until the 2nd.
