I saved up my money for it which is $64.98 and now my computer just cursed me and everything's good except for my CPU and video card
I'm screwed. i would still buy it and try it out but it wouldn't work and my mom wouldn't buy a new computer just for that.

What processor do you have and what graphics card?
It must be a REALLY OLD processor not to be able to play Sims 3.
Video cards are upgradeable, and you can get some dirt cheap ones that perform really well. (Sapphire Radeon HD 4670).

Oh dang...anyway, the higher the resolution, the more it depends on the graphics card than anything else.
