How do I get the Steam Overlay working for The Sims? - Lightning - 28-09-2009 01:28 AM Hello, This is my first topic after searching and not finding any results pertaining to "Steam Overlay" I use the Steam system to play most of my games like Bioshock to Team Fortress 2 on Windows Vista and these games have the ability to utilize the Steam overlay to chat with friends and surf the web.  When I try to add this feature to The Sims the game crashes before the Maxis logo shows up.  I have tried tweaking the target shortcuts to the exe is program files to the one on the CD, and it was able to run fine, but it did not have the overlay for me to communicate and is very frustrating having to keep alt-tabbing to see conversations and waste time browsing the web for cheats while some robber steals my stuff!
