Efficiency? I need some inputs.
I need some inputs regarding the style that I have been using for the past generation of two families. I've become comfortable with this but it may not be the most efficient way of doing things.
1. In the child stage, both future parents were encouraged to max out all personality traits including Playfulness if possible. They also started to max out all the Skills. 2. In the teen stage, I had both teens choose the knowledge aspiration; maxed out all the skills; became an overachiever transformed to a witch by their parents; maxed out Dance and Billiards, learned to Ninja Teleport; got their Mr. Mickles; got robots (for "protection"), 60gal aquariums (for additional cash), snapdragon bouquets (for needs); all the career rewards from one parent. 3. In the young adult stage, their wants are always fulfilled to try and max out their Lifetime Aspiration Meter as early as possible, both maintained the maximum natural Hobby Enthusiasm; maxed out their Reputation to Sociable Celebrity; made 7 friends per parent for the maximum career friend requirement of 14 (Show Business); changed their aspiration to Fortune come Junior Year, learned all the miscellaneous stuff (Anger Management, Parenting, etc.); Played Coco Pinball to earn more money (both young adults have a combined value of $180,000 excluding the stuff their parents gave them before graduating); got engaged in college. 4. In the adult stage, they find a job and got the career rewards for that day; had a pet fully trained at everything; got that pet a job; got married, tried for Baby; Parents will snuggle the baby to max out their relationship status; One parent will quit their job to encourage the child; The working parent will also encourage what the unemployed parent cannot; Rinse and repeat from the top. I did not include Bigfoot, Aliens, being a Vampire, Zombie, Plantsim, Werewolf because I already had a Sim that has this all. Once the "Zombie" life stage was included, the legacy was out of the question. I just want the most efficient way of building a sim legacy. I didn't bother with talent badges, an OPB business, collecting all the vacation mementos since I also got these already and weren't that impressed. Kindly put some inputs on my mistakes, what I'm missing and what I should add, remove, or redo. Thank you. |

Re: Efficiency? I need some inputs.
This all sounds like a LOT of work, but also sounds like it's working out rather well for you.
I don't have UNI installed, so I don't get to have the Young Adult stage, like you do. My sims almost always end up with Knowledge or Fortune as their Main Personality, and then Family or Romance as the backup personality. This keeps their wants/fears a little easier to manage, because they want more than just the typical stuff. If it's working for you, I don't see why you'd want to change it, unless you're starting to get bored with the repetitiveness of it all. The only thing I used to do is in their teen years, the Heirs must learn Parenting and have their Cooking skill as high as possible. Also, the parent with the lowest paying job retires when they become an Elder, so that they can stay at home and take care of the baby/babies of the next generation; their grandchild/grandchildren. Re: Efficiency? I need some inputs.
Thanks for the input. Yes. It has become repetitive but becomes extremely easy for each succeeding generation. The third generation boy already has maxed out all the personalities during childhood stage. First time I've been able to do that. Unfortunately, at this stage, the Sim (using the best looking male and female stock model) has deteriorated in the looks department (still looks better than all the male townie sims but nowhere near the looks of the grandparents). Can't waste his maxed out personality though. Hopefully this new female sim "Create a Sim" (non-cc) can fix genes for the better.
The teens (all with knowledge aspirations) get sent to college in around 3 days just to get the dancing, billiards (just to complete all of the scholarships minus the paranormal life-stages), *insert name* is an overachiever, and learn fire protection/anger management/etc. if it pops up in their Wants. For my play style, it's their shortest life stage. Fortunately, I sent a 3rd generation sim to college on a dorm which was occupied by the previous sim generations which in turn is also full of career rewards (minus cowplant since it kills dormies a lot), very expensive stuff, lots of voodoo dolls, and aspiration rewards) yesterday. I had him get his father's sentry bots, munchiebots, and cleanbots since the dad has his natural hobby in Tinkering It was the first time I saw this Sentry Bot in action and it was a nice break from all of the repetitiveness. Then, one of the girl sim's Wants was to buy a statue so I bought a flamingo and a garden gnome since it was the cheapest of the lot. Every time, a dormie gets that evil look in them the sentry bots zap them. I thought that the sentry bots were broken since the dormies are always non-hostile npcs. It was only when I had one of the sims kick the garden gnome that the sentry bots zapped him. Sentry bot zappings became a bit boring after a day since dormies get zapped wayyyy too frequently (at least 4x a day). Haven't seen the Munchie Bot in action though since my sims are all witches anyway who's motives almost never decay due to the rewards and snapdragons left behind by the previous generations. Just wanted to share. |

I've yet to get any Snapdragons. Is that what the Sims can make when they get the gold badge in Plant Arranging?
