October Blog is up!
The new blog is up on Sims3.com! Here it is!!!! karma appreciated {blush}

Jennifer Lane – Associate Producer

My name is Jenn, and I’m a producer on The Sims 3.  It’s always fun to talk about the game with players and today I’m going to tell you all about one of my favorite new features in The Sims 3—Create a Style!

Have you ever gone shopping and found a great outfit, perfect in every way except the pattern looks like a paint bucket exploded in the textile factory? Ever lost track of time after sitting in super comfy reading chair because you’ve been hypnotized by the garish pattern?

No worries! In The Sims 3 you’ll be able to put your personal touch on practically everything that your Sims own.

The Sims 3 will have a slew of clothing and objects available in the Create a Sim, Build Mode, and Buy Mode catalogs. There are plenty of ready-made design options, so you can quickly dress your Sim or furnish your house with designer flare and go play. But if you want to interject your own personal style into the game, Create a Style allows you to customize clothing, furnishings, walls, and nearly anything else your Sims can interact with.

In Create a Style you’ll have dozens of patterns to choose from including different fabrics, masonry, paint, metals, and a lot more. You can use the patterns in any way you want. If you really, really want to make a Sim wearing metal shoes and wooden pants, go for it!

Not only can you switch patterns around, you can apply them to select areas of an object to create a unique look. You can create a polka dot door with animal print door knobs or a tile lined sink with plaid water fixtures. Each item has between one and four customizable regions that can be modified. Take a polo shirt and add a plaid pattern to the collar, stripes to the sleeves and leopard print to the body for that … unique … design flourish. Okay, maybe there are more fashionable ways to design, but that’s for you to decide.

What if you love that bold geometric pattern, but hate the color scheme? Create a Style lets you pick the colors within patterns too. It even has warm and cool color palates to help you match hues for a color-coordinated theme.

When you’re finished creating, you can save your design for later use. And if you’re really into coordinated schemes, it’s easy to apply the same pattern to other objects that your Sims own for that extreme matchy-matchy look. Your Sims could have black and white striped socks to match their black and white striped car or a plaid shirt that matches their countertops. Your Sim’s house could be decked out in argyle everything! –or not…

With so many options, you can decorate your house with a different motif everyday. Will you choose classic, rustic, and chic themes or mix and match to your hearts desire? Will you make your Sims fashion victims or mavericks of style? It’s up to you to create their style.

I can hardly wait to see your results!

Jenn

Re: October Blog is up!
Awesome! I can't wait for this game now! The huge problem I have with The Sims 2 is making a theme in a room... or house in general!

Anyways, I wonder if downloads will still be around? It kinda sounds like it will be.

Re: October Blog is up!
I'm excited about mixing and matching but that isn't my main priority.

I just want to play!
But, I think this is a long stretch from trying to decorate your child's room with other things besides the pink oven, the rainbow colored toy box etc. Without having to download it or wait for an ep with some taste.

At least I can now remodel/decorate a bedroom after a  sibling moves out. And I can remodel and redecorate a whole house after a generation has moved out or died off.

Ill be renewed everytime I want a change because I can create a whole new look and have matching patterns.

Me too Brit! I lookforward to creating ugly clothes for artistic, nerdy, elder poor, and plain old unstylistic simmies!

I loved the brown loafers the neat Sim is wearing in the roomie screenshot. I can make a Sim completely look how I want him. In fact, with these options you can probably tell a story by looks alone without even paying attention to his traits.

Re: October Blog is up!
it is also nice to have different patterned bed quilts instead of having the fixed quilt with the bed. i can't wait, i love the fact that i can now customize everything. well i am gonna makesure that everybody has different look in their homes. apart from everyone having the same furniture and wall paper. {clap} {clap}

my main priority in the game is too have fun but also to creat the best looking houses and good looking sims. And the game is going to be very realistic. but i suppose the customizesation means having to have a lot of space on the computer. but that doesn't matter, i just wanna plaaaay nowwwww.

I hope they begin to talk more about the game play and not to forget the system requirements because that is all i am thinking about most!?

FAQs<br />Aren't you too old to watch disney?<br />1st and for most no one is too old to watch anything or do anything. I am in No rush to grow up. And disney is more interesting than anyother program there is.<br /><br />why do u like sims?<br />Becuase it is too fun and i can t live without it Big Grin

Big Grin Big Grin {yes} Im so exited tooo...i really tried to make a movie off the sims 2..but it seemed so pointless cause I couldnt do what i really wanted to do..but now since the sims 3 coming out with so much interesting things..i will be making movies and themes and share them on the web..

{woot}I really like the decorating tool for clothes and and home/furniture..now i can really make popular,nerdy,trying to be cool,weak,and bad looking sims with the clothing thing...especially with socks and the shoes..

I think im going to take my time with watever Im doing..even if it take 5 hours just to create a family...i never rush the game..the game rush me..it will 12 midnight b4 i know it..lol...but when the sims 1 and 2 came out..i really take my time anyway so im not in the rush..i would really like to enjoy the game and learn something new about slow as possible..

But yea im going to have so much fun..this is just going to make me drop out of college and work..lol...just kidding
