So we got talking about this in a random thread and we figured it'd be best we just made a thread on it.

What about mardy? Does anyone know what that means?

I ALWAYS use this video as an example but this is typical Yorkshire accent. I'm not this strong. I think.

Notice how she misses words like 'the' out, like I mentioned earlier.
Example; he laid down on bed [start of video].

Anyway, back to talking about your own slang words/accents.

I don't have an accent...well, I don't think I do.

Being from the Chicago area, when I go on a vacation out of the midwest, people tell me that I have a Chicago accent.

I think that a Chicago accent is mostly what you find on TV shows/movies in the US.

In Wigan, we say really random things.
Reet - used instead of Right, or 'Alright' or when saying hi to a friend. We normally say "Reet Mate"
Theres bags with Wigan slang on it, I'll try and find one haha.

Some are quite old, as the "younger generation" have adapted more of a 'normal' dialect. My grandparents still talk like this haha.
