To me they kind of amount to the same thing. TS4 would still be four years later.

I guess I would choose the second option though, because there's so many ways that the game could be expanded, its not possible to not need EPs in sims game. At least from my perspective.

I'd buy the EP's in 4 years, that gives me enough time.

I agree with dejadejavu. Here are my reasons:
1. EAxis might think of a brilliant new idea for TS3 right after the game is released.
2. I would eventually get bored with the exact same game.
3. Even though it costs a lot, it makes me feel nice to have a sparklin', brand new Sims game in my hands! ;D

i would rather have the expansion packs, mainly because od what +++Super_Kawaii+++  said.

but ESPECIALLY since  i would get EXTREMELY EXTREMELY EXTREMELY bored of the same game. (i'm not very patient)

but they better not include cars in an expansion pack! Restore that code, EAxis!
and weather is already official.
i just dont anna buy the same expansion over and over again!

I would buy EP's because they add to the game and the reason they are made is to add more options and features to make the game even better!!!  ;D

I prefer expansion packs.

At least you can pick what you put in your game..
If you think pets are stupid, then don't get that expansion.  :

because the one solid game wouldnt be very great i can assure you..
because they come up with new ideas and additions constantly.

ya, the game alone might be great but then the company will get a great idea and put it in an expansion pack and while you might be content with the game alone as soon as you hear what the expansion pack could do to your game you wouldn't be able to live without that specific element in your game.  I totally wouldn't feel like I had the whole game anyway without the EP.  Sure, its expesive to buy what I consider the whole game but its totally worth it.  And with the seamless neighborhood and stuff the EP's will integrate really well too I think.
