It's because of that seamless aging that the town may experience low population. (or possibly die out)

Lets say you have a population of 90 sims. Because of that, townies will stop having babies. Now this wont affect the population now, but it will affect it later. Once your towns teens grow up, and the elders die, then the town will start having babies again, but after that the town will have a shortage of (probably) children, because of the stopping of reproduction before, then once those non-existant children grow up, then a large portion of the adult population will dissappear, and over a few generations, that can cause a population decline, or even a population killoff.

Oooh, an apocalypse would be cool!

But anyway, if that was a limit of townies then it would be allright, if they added a Create-a-townie option, so you can fill in those missing generations.
