At first I thought maybe the Sims should just have its own made up religions, but then the religions would have to be explained and you'd still have to do things like go to church or pray, etc... and I really couldn't be bothered... so I think what stregatasim said makes sense, so instead of labelling their beliefs as a religion they should just have their beliefs, as simple as that. Then it's not so complicated.
