I think the leaked version is a beta? Maybe one of the reasons why Sims 3 was delayed was because they weren't sure if they were going to use SecuRom or not, but it was included in the beta and not in the final version when they decided not to include it?

EA confirmed that it was a pre-release copy, and the one on June 2 or 5th would be different.  {yes}
