If super star resurfaced, I can see girl child sims watching TV, and dressing, gossiping about a Hannah Montana version of a sim.

And maybe teens could have posters of cute guys in sim boy bands and get giddy about cute guys in their class.

It kinda sounds like Sims Superstar. I never played that game but from the description of the game it sounds like your idea is conntected to it,somehow...
Also you should be able to meet them like backstage.
