Re: Slang
Oh Nichola that's sick. I'm sure you get it.
![]() LMAO I love it. It's surprising but Scottish slang seems similar to over here in a lot of ways. http://www.bbc.co.uk/northyorkshire/voic...sary.shtml There's some Yorkshire slang in there. Some I useĀ a lot; Sen - self tha - your/you Waint - wont Chuddy; chweing gum Cuppa; tea Chuffed; shocked, happy Nowt; nothing eeh by gum; oh my God faffing; messing about Gander; look Jammy; awesome Bog/lav; toilet Minging; gross aye/oh aye; yes/oh yes/oh really LOL, I love this one; Sh!t with sugar on. Basically means fancy nosh[food]. Dunno, you probably know most of them but I'm too lazy to go through most of them. ![]() GET THA COAT THA'S PULLED. ![]() ^^ basically, you're in for some WooHoo. Um yeah. XD LOL, judging by what me and Nichola have posted so far, we must sound so common. ![]() We need to get some posh English people over here. Sadly there aren't as many as people think.

Re: Slang

![]() Though when you say it like day-to-day, you're so used to speaking how you do that you don't really notice how bad you are with slang until you write it all down like this. {rolleyes} I kinda want to get rid of my slang one day though. I don't like sounding common.

Re: Slang
I don't mind because its just where I come from. Its when you're talking to other people you feel a bit weird about it haha.
This is a rough example of how we talk! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5Jcs-urVTU [center] ![]() <br />the legacy of me - 19/3 | facebook | twitter |

Re: Slang
I hate how when I go somewhere outside of North America people think I'm American because Canadian accidents are like the same (Except for a few differences that are hard to notice)

Re: Slang
Our accent is just known as "Northern" I suppose, because Liverpool has Scouse for example.
Common joke here is "Wiganese" We don't get out much haha. [center] ![]() <br />the legacy of me - 19/3 | facebook | twitter |

Re: Slang
We miss out 'the' in most sentences when speaking.
EG; "Nipping shop Mum" Haha, or say it as t' or th' Words beginning with A get the 'th' sound. EG; "Get in't 'th'ambulance" Haha, we're strange
