Yes, in TS2, you put all that effort into getting them into Private school, and then what's the reward? A uniform. A uniform that you can't even change the colour of! We can only have it in blue even though it also comes in green and red. :

I think private school should be something you have to have an "in" with..
rather than invite some stupid dude over..
but you know to get them into private school i usually moved them into a brand new house and invited him over the day they moved in had her prepare dinner before greeting him...and then serve dinner show him around and schmooze now and then it usually worked great.

I never really found it too hard to get into private school. Just make sure you have someone in the family who is an awesome cook, give someone the job of touring and the rest of the people can schmooze. I agree with what Alyssa, make sure you have everything prepared and getting your sims into private school is a wizz!

That's an awesome idea! I'd love for my sims to be a bit clumsy at times... Or if your sim child doesn't get along with their brother or sister, they could pull a prank on each other and take one of their homework book out when they aren't paying attention. Or maybe even their dog could quite literally "eat my homework".

Also, I'm not sure I like it in TS2 when kids come home from school earlier than teens do. In real life they all come home at the same time... But what would be nice is if the toddlers could go to nursery, and come home at about lunchtime. What would be cute is if they brought little snack boxes into school for break time.

What about after school care? Say, for example, if their mum and dad work until 5.00 each night, the kids might have to stay behind at school to do their homework or whatever, and then their parents would come and pick them up after they've finished work. And the kids could maybe get really angry if the parents are late.

Maybe teenagers could get into big trouble if they were caught passing notes around the class or cheating in a test. It would be alright if they had to revise for an exam every now and again (but not so much that it would take over their lives), and if they didn't revise, they might either get all the answers completely wrong, or they could copy someone else's work. If they chose to do things their own way and get a low mark, maybe the teacher would propose that they discuss what they might be struggling with. However, if they chose to be rebellious and risk copying from the person next to them's work, some sort of punishment might be in order, and their parents could receive an email or phone call.

Suspension and expulsion are good ideas as well, but these have been discussed on other threads. But I can really picture all my good, clever nerdy sims all working hard, getting no detentions whatsoever, and then my rebellious students getting awful grades, not handing in homework, getting suspended and maybe even expelled.

It would add so much more excitement into your sims school lives.

Brilliant ideas there Bexi, I agree! I especially like teen Sims note-passing in class or cheating in tests and getting in trouble for it, and that could be followed with after-school detentions. And I also like the idea of children being annoyed with their parents for being late to pick them up, or even scared. I know when I was a little girl I often got scared that mummy had forgotten all about me and I would have to live in school forever and she would never come for me. : So I think little kids should also be worried and anxious if there parent is late and they don't know where they are.

Those are the only ideas I wanted to expand some more on, everythign else is great!

Lol! Aw, yeah, whenever my mum never came to get me from my classroom in Pre-School, I always thought she went home without me because she works at my school, haha. So I'd always like, burst into tears and then my mum would come running in like "I'm here, you banana".

First days of school should be more nerve wracking for kids as well, like they could cry and hold onto their mum or dad's legs or something when they leave them at school.

Definitely, agreed completely! I want confident Sim children to be excited and anticpate the first day of school, and to probably come home with a friend or two even after being there for just a day. And shy little children will be really upset and scared and anxious to go, and as you suggested, cry and hold on to mummy and daddy's legs, and have to be pushed by mum and dad right up to the school bus, or in the car, if that's available. I also think, after their first day, we should have a little pop-up of some sort explaning how the first day went for the child. There could be a scoring system, for example, like with the party scores in TS2, ranging from 'terrible' to 'amazing' or 'brilliant'. And the outcome decides which type of moodlet they get - the greatest outcome meaning the Sim child suceeds in obtaining a very happy moodlet that lasts for about a week, therefore the school week remains productive and positive, and the worst meaning the child recieves a very unhappy moodlet throughout the week, therefore no improvements through the week. And the other scores can range in how happy they make the Sim, and how long for.

Moodlet! I like it! ! The rating of how their day went is also very good... I'd love to find out what had been happening with my sim kids at school. Like if they're shy or insecure they could be bullied or whatever for not having as many friends as the other kids. And also like you said, if it was a confident sim then they'd get all the praise from the teachers and have a whole bunch of people trying to be their friend.

The moodlet thing is an excellent idea. You should write a letter to EAxis proposing this. It would also be cool, though sad, if your child could come home crying because of a bully and then the bully could come over and pretend to be nice in front of the parents but be mean to the kid. and then maybe mum would glance out the window and see little tommy being pushed off the swing by Bully Billy and run outside and scold him. and maybe call his mother and there would be a rivalry between the two families because of it.

It would also be cool if you had a teen and they procrastinated on a project and at like 10p.m. you get a notice saying Kayla has a project due in the morning and she has to stay up and do it or get a large grade drop
