Re: Reacting to Memories: The Happy, the Sad and the Tragic.
I also wish that when a sim have a good memory, like their grandmother planted a garden with her when she was a child, she would want to relive that memory and make a tradition by planting a garden with her children and grandchildren.
Some memories should be that special for a sim, and the importance of these memories depends on their traits. Like the sim in the above idea is a green thumb sim, and let's say an outdoors sim would enjoy fishing with his kids, since his father fished with him. Ooh, this is a super awesome idea. This could bring a more family like atmosphere to the sims. Also say a sim totally clashed with his father so they never got to share the fishing experience together. This could depress the father and cause tension between the two sims. FAMILY DRAMA!! (28-04-2008 05:01 PM)Randomly Cassie link Wrote:It'd be nice if they could remember things that friends and family pointed out in conversation - what if a Sim mentioned while conversing with a friend (Simlish, of course, we'd see it through speech bubble) that their favourite colour is green? And then, on that Sims birthday, their friend will rememeber that and buy them something green, like a green shirt or jumper (sweater, to most of you). I just thought that would be rather cute. {unsure} Maybe sims wouldn't be able to remember the different favorites of other sims...but we could. We are the ones picking gifts for others. That would add a little bit of a challenge. Then once a sim receives the gift he will see its his favorite and be really happy. Actually I guess sims should be able to remember these things, since we want our sims townie friends to get appropriate gifts. I suppose every item should just have info on it like color, kind of style (diva, stylish, casual, plain, hideous) and any other specs you guys can think of. Then sims would be able to recognize their favorite color, but if its a trendy item. |

We can choose, if we wish, but it'd be nice if perhaps we could click on the Sim who will be celebrating a birthday soon (or wedding, anniversary etc) and in the pie menu you could select 'purchase gift' and Sims would head out and by something they want to buy them, however expensive or cheap (perhaps their money situation can decide this). But also, if that couldn't happen, then it should be up to us to remember, and we should get some sort of reaction from the Sim recieving the present that has a specific feature they wanted. Or maybe something in return. I can't really think what. {blink} ![]() |

Re: Reacting to Memories: The Happy, the Sad and the Tragic.
i love cassie's ideas about sims remembering little details
like when they go out to coffee in ts3..it would be neat to see sims order for someone else and know what that persons favorite drink is..and it would also be cool if they went enough that the barista would remember what they always order ya know? i love the whole present idea to..how they remember their favorite things and then buy a gift according to them..that would be pretty cool to see sims acknowledge everyones personalities. cool ideas |

I said the same thing, he or she taking the order could go up to the regular Sim customer and ask him or her if they want 'the usual', you know? It would be cool if they remembered that. And also, I said in a different thread that Sims should have different food prefrences -some should prefer burned burgers, some normal and some should prefer less well done, for example. It would be neat if the waitor/waitress or whoever would remember if they prefer their burger whichever way, you know. ![]() |

Veggi burger! Brilliant idea! I never actually though of that, but yes, the vegetarian Sims are going to only order the vegetables and whatnot. I wonder if we can have vegans too? Vegetarian was originally listed as 'Vegan' ages ago. It's going to be very hard buying for vegans. They'll have to buy an awful lot of that vegan-friendly labelled food.

Re: Reacting to Memories: The Happy, the Sad and the Tragic.
Haha, me too, I have a very limited diet, to be honest. The only dairy I ever eat is ice cream lol. And I'm actually not a major meat eater. But anway lol, here I go, I could take this into an essay about my diet, which will be VERY boring, I assure you.
Maybe Sims can go on diets? And write weekly shopping lists that they start to remember over time? ![]() |
